Mephisto Genetics Any rosin aficionados out there in Mephistoville?

I need to press for 4-5 people, not just myself. Would a 3x3 do the duty ok? I don't want to spend hours doing this and if a large platen would reduce my time by some fraction like 1/3 or 1/4 it might be work spending more. I just have no idea if a 3x3 can be big enough for a new people. What do you think?
It depends on how much you intend on pressing at once. 3g is 3g...a larger platen set will not do it faster. In fact, the platens will take longer to heat. Trying to press too much at once is Counterproductive. With a 10ton press, you won't want to do much more than 3g per press anyways. 3x 3 or 3x5 is good for you. Just my opinion.m

What do you use as your bottom support plate? Not much room with the 6Ton press, the arbor plates are too thick for that press for my plates.
Don't yell at me but right now nothing lol. Had some wood but don't fit so have to find something else. Gotta get that done hahaha.

I would stick to a rectangle not a square what ever size they are. Rectangle will get the rosin off of the plate faster than a square which is what you want. The longer it's on the plate it can dry out and become crispy. I make my pucks rectangles actually lol. My plates are 3x5 which work well but would like to try 4x7.

Not true, Rosin chases the Cold. Bigger plates take longer to get off.and the difference is extremely minimal at best. Unless you are trying to press more at once and have a larger press.

Not say bigger but not square. I have watch a ton (pun intended) of serious commercial setups and they all use rectangle plates. I know 1 company even mention that you should use rectangle plates for that reason. The only square ones i saw were cheap 1s on amazon straight from china. I have no scientific data to back it up, but is sound reasoning to me. It maybe incorrect I will try and find it and post it.

You would not want a 5x5 Square, a 3x5 will work better. But a 3x3 will do the same as a 3x5, actually it presses faster. You don't need larger than a 3x5 with a 6 or 10 Ton press.

I agree 3x5 works well. I would like to try a little bigger just to make a little easier on me, always afraid it's not centered enough and will come out the side lol.

Ok so my plates are 3x4. I press ~3 g of flower at a time. Most of it @ 195°F for 2 minutes on my HF 6 ton press. I can get about 3 g rosin pressed out in 1 hour; it just depends on the strain I am pressing. I think the caged plates would slow me down a lot because it would be harder to get the parchment and pre-pressed puck lined up. My homemade prepress I made for less than $20.00. It was a lot of work but works like a charm. The interior dimensions are 1.25" x 1.75" x 3" tall. it comfortably holds 3.25g flower before pressing. I had good yield with this size puck on my 3" x 4" plates.

Yes and thank you @Mañ'O'Green. I build 1 like this from his instructions works great for anyone that is interested. I can't recommend this more!
