You need to upgrade your press to really benefit larger plates. I know what you mean about centering it.

I am good with 6 tons, although my plates are "rated" for up to 20 tons. Never used a bigger press, but I would think you would lose a little touch. I don't want to just crank it down, so not sure I would want something bigger.

You said you wanted bigger plates. Bigger plates benefit from a larger press. But with small plates 6 Ton is plenty.

Just like to try them just to see what they're like. I am happy with I have, but like to try new things just so I know how it would work.

I have a new bench press. 10 ton. Cost $200US. Assembled and ready for use. Also have two Sour Livers. One chopped and hanging and one about to be chopped.

All I need now is some plates, heaters, controller and prepress. Should have them in about 2 weeks. Can't wait.

That is actually a good deal! My 6ton bottle Jack seems to be low on oil and building pressure, causing a slow leak. Instead of spending $12-15 on hydraulic oil, I just ordered a 10 ton bottle Jack for $25. The Press like yours is $250 by me. I can't justify paying that much, since I have everything already. We will see if the 10 ton Jack makes a difference vs 6 ton, same everything else.

Well I just got my 10ton Jack and hooked it up in place of the 6ton. It is slightly bigger and heavier, minor adjustment made to springs. First squish, definitely better yield than 6ton. Good decision to upgrade jacks instead of buying fluid. Anyone with a Harbor Freight 6ton should consider buying a better jack, mine leaked anyways. Well worth $25 for a better jack. It is only $60 for the press, so $25 is no big deal..better than the Harbor freight jack anyways.

Why were you having to replace jacks? Seals blowing due to heat or just too much and wear and tear on a cheap light duty jack?

Cheap Jack leaked oil, it gained pressure and would leak from on/off valve. I was sick of it and hydraulic fluid isn't cheap, better to upgrade vs filling up.

Just posting up a few photos from a fully dried harvest. These are pressed straight from the branch on a 10 ton shop press, dabpress plates, 215F and press club bags.
