Indoor any thoughts on this?

hey guys my last few grows were under an apollo 400w hps dimmable ballast run on 100% without any problems at all.

i recently just got my 600w hps from the same company and it is also being run at 100%

when looking at the bulb (havent done actual testing with any devices) but my old 400w seems a little brighter?

not sure what to do, the old 400w seems brighter but the new 600w

what also confuses me is the 600w powers on fine and works and is brand new so i dont see how it not as bright as my old 400 that was used over a few grows.

this light costs a good amount of money so i was kinda hoping it would out perform my 400w, any thoughts on this guys? :smokebuds:

The 600 looks brighter to me,plus the filiment inside the bulb is also bigger.

If your new 600 watt bulb has an expanded blue spectrum it won't look quite as bright. Think about CFLs. A 6500k looks a lot brighter than a 2700k of the same wattage.

yeah 600 is brighter are they both orange spec?

ok color temp on both is 2000k..neither have an expanded blue spectrum

also a shot from both boxes the top box being the 600w bulb box.

even if it looks less bright to you plants see/absorb things differently id say its fine, get a light meter if you are really worried, maybe you can rent them from photography shops or something.
the 600 looks brighter to me and is spread over a larger area.
