Anyone have any ideas? Thought it was pH or Mg

So I have been growing with Bio biz light mix, bio bizz organic nutes and RO water.

I have come across an issue that has been getting worse over the last few days

I thought it may be a pH issue as the feed and soil pH has been low, around 5.1-5.3 but as I'm in soil and organic I've been told not to worry about that too much.

I also thought it may be an Mg issue as my leafs are folding slightly. It not heat and as I'm running RO, I know I lack Mg. I have given them 2 doses of epsom salts from day 1. The second time being 2 days ago when I saw the issue

I fed just RO water and epsom salts on the last feed. Hoping that maybe I have just over done the nutes (which are in small quantities)

Anyone have any idea what it could be?

It looks like it could be that some nutes got on the leaves when you fed her.Keep watching her and see if it spreads to the higher leaves and if it does let us no.

Thanks mate.

Doesnt seem to be water on the leaves as it's getting worse and showing on more plants. I haven't watered them since the OP.

I have some more picturee and would love to know your thoughts.

Cheers!

Can you get some cal/mag?
I have some. I dont want to use it though as I'm organic growing. Is that's what you think the issue is, mg?

I did also have a guess at this. With the leafs folding and the discoloration in the pattern it is (starting on new growth now too)

I have given some epsom salts. Do you think it needs more?

Really appreciate your help

:toke:... Ca-Mg, organic or not, isn't going the mess anything up or compromise the quality in any way,... with RO water and those very mild nutes, it's wise to start using it,... add it in first, before the other nutes go in,... As for pH, organics don't require pH adjusting while in solution typically, but that has nothing to do with the in-pot pH,... just because it's "organic", doesn't make the grow bullet-proof against off-pH in the pot,.. way too many influencing factors there! Are you using any inoculants? With organics, they are critical to keep a soil microbe population around to help breakdown and cycle those nute into forms the plant can take up,...
How are you taking the soil pH? it's too low in any case, and could be kicking off a P defc.,.. hard to say for sure yet, symptoms are not well defined,... This is not a Mg or Sulphate issue regardless, so stop with that for now,... too much Mg will screw with other nute ion uptake,... The leaves edge curling is likely something else,.. how close are the lights, and what type?

Ah thanks for such a detailed reply!

I was under the impression using any non organic nutes would disrupt my soil microbes.

pH I'm sure is a massive issue for me! My feed and soil are both low, ~5.0-5.3. I have a proper soil probe.

How would I go about increasing the pH organically? I have read numerous things but all information seems to contradict each other.

I have not given any innoculants. I have just fed molasses in one feed.

Light wise i have 3 * 250w hps in cool boxes. They are about 17 inches from canopy. I'm 95% sure this isn't an issue. I have gone from 3 * 600w hps down to 250 for veg. I never experienced these problems with the 600w.

Thanks again for your help!!

...here's a good article on this: http://www.gardenmyths.com/does-fertilizer-kill-soil-bacteria/

... I have used both, and often a blend of the two depending on how fast the need to get available nutes in there,... organics are slower due to some of them needing breakdown and conversion to available forms my the soil herd, hence the recommendations for inoculants (I like Recharge)....
... Look for Earth Juice Natural pH Up, it's Potassium bicarbonate.... with RO water, you have no pH buffering minerals (CaCO3) in there, and the soil may not be able to handle it alone at this point... you can also find some lime, powdered for best penetration and fastest acting... look for agricultural/garden lime, not dolomite, which is slower acting... you can make a solution up and water it in,..... In a pinch, you can use a pH adjuster to raise the feed and/or water pH up to near 7 until the soil corrects,... I don't recommend flushing unless it's dire!

Thanks for your help mate.

I have seemed to have sorted the issue. I am mixing my water tank with half RO and half tap water and letting it sit for 24 hours. It bring my pH to about 7.5 before nutes and 6.3 after.

No longer do I see the probelms.

I have been looking into innoculants. For this grow im going to continue to use the biobizz nutes and molasses and hope that the fish mix nutrients give the soil part of what it's looking for and of course the molasses to feed the micro heard.

Really appreciate your help
