Lighting are LED's efficient?

hey brother,
if your within europe, keep locked with grownorthern.
they are bringing out a new led, which uses 75 watt power but is better than 400w cfls etc
it should be on shelfs in the next week or so
lots of brothers on here use grow northern and have had excellent results, plus they have a partnership with dutch passion....so you know they are gonna be good

much love and bud karma Krazy

Remember reading in Rosenthals book. White LED's added here and there to temper the purple/alien color tones produced by the unit. I have one with a few whites and turns the purple into what looks like a normal bright grow light. In fact, wonder if adding a few it just saves a bit to the bottom line. Red are most expensive and clear/white assume least expensive.

I don't know--could be white which is a visible wavelength stimulates some photosensitive pigments. Lots of specialized cells in leaves to get all from spectra. Leaves are comlicated tiny factories.

Reds and blues seem to be the stable in the right combo. It appears the necessary spectra are common knowledge and explains why anyone can order China individual LEDs/modules/perfect fit fixtures (and why the Chinese can easily assemble in one of 10s of thousands of disparate factories--now located in China) and parts and get right into the game. Only a few companies even make the actual LED's--the diodes. It is a sophisticated process that is hard if not impossible to fake and get away with---http://www.madehow.com/Volume-1/Light-Emitting-Diode-LED.html

Cheers
