Hey All,
I am hoping someone can give my advice on how to save my baby Arwen. She is a Lowryder #2 and was growing great until we started noticing some burn and chlorosis around day 37 but thought it was just because of a bit too much veg fert in combination with being too close to light. Recently however the problem has been progressing and yellowing has spread from the burnt tips down the leaves a bit. I am also noticing yellowing on the older leaves and have tried to take a lot of pics of the damage. She also has very red/purple petioles coming off of brittle feeling green stems. I have tried to document her progress in My journal which is linked in my sig. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
What is your experience level? First grow ever.
Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights:
Mars Hydro Reflector 144x3, 65w 2700k CFL and 40w 3000k DIY COB LED (but this is on the other plants.)
.2) Distance from tops:
Was only about 10" but i have raised it up to about 16" above the tallest plants. CFL is about 4 inches from side.
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply:
passive intake only but seems to be plenty.
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan:
only have circulation fans.
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule:
currently I have the plants on 19/5 with both grow and bloom switches on.
Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it:
This plant is in filthy rich potting soil amended with Bio-tone starter plus, Perlite, coarse sand, and dolomite lime.
.8) Size of container:
3 gallon smart pot.
Your nutrients and water:
.9) Source of water. (tap or filtered) What's it's ph?
Tap left out and bubbled at least 24 hours. PH unknown but water report says 7.2-8 is the norm.
10) Method of checking water ph.
None
11) Method of adjusting water ph.
None
12) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages I am following wg's easy dirt guide. Veg feed was with Alaska fish fert 5-1-1. I noticed some clawing after my final veg feed and a bit of burn but didn't flush. This is likely when everything started to go wrong. When vertical growth stopped around week 5. She was switched over to MG quick start 4-12-4 at an extremely low dose of 1tsp/gal along with 1tsp/gal of unsulphured molasses.
13) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering.
only once between each feed. Generally I find the 3 gallon pots like about 1/2 gallon each.
14) Any additives or tea's?
Molasses
15) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?
Don't know
16) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
Don't know
17) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?
I don't but have been thinking about it to fix whatever is going on.
Your growroom:
18) Indoors or outdoors?
Indoors
19) What size of closet, room or hut?
Closet with about 4X2 of usable grow space
20) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off?
Lights on Temp is between 75-81F RH is between 45%-50%. Lights off temps go down to 66F usually and RH climbs to 60%-70%.
21) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom?
I saw one flying thing and smashed it a couple of days ago. Nothing since.
Your strain:
22) What strain are you growing?
Many but this plant is a Lowryder #2
23) Is this an photoperiod strain?
No
24) How old is the plant?
the plant is now 43 Days from surfacing.
25) In what life-cycle is it? Vegetative, pre-flowering, flowering, rippening?
Early flowering.
26) From seeds or clones?
Seed
I suspect it may be either magnesium or phosphorous deficiency or a combination of both.
I realize though that most of what i try will be shooting in the dark without knowing my PH so i am willing to try anything people think might be a good idea. Thanks so much for any help or guidance you can offer. I am hoping this girl can pull through. She seems to be doing ok despite everything.
