New Grower attaching your carbon filter directly to extraction fan

hi guys im just about to set up my tent again after having my roof fixed, as the title says i was going to attach my 4" RVK extraction fan directly to my 4" rhino carbon filter but i cant seem to get the jubilee clip tight enough to hold them together, does anyone have any ideas how to do this? i was going to use duct tape but i dont think it would be very safe:dunno:

I use duct tape on a 6 in vortex inline and a phresh 6in by 16in filter... works great just get it real tight... extracts air like a beast!

I was able to bend it enough to get such a tight fit on both connections that I didn't even use a clip. Just a good wrapping of aluminum tape on both joints and it was solid as a rock.

thanks guys as i said i was going to use duct tape but i couldn't get the thought of them coming apart and falling on top of my plants lol

I have them hanging on bungie cords.. just the connections of the filter and fan is duct tapped to create a seal.

I built a 12" X 12" shelf that has a 4.25" hole cut in it, a 4" collar on the bottom side of the shelf/hole with a duct running directly from it to the exhaust fan ( about 7 inches).
On top of the shelf, around the hole I placed a flexible gasket. Now I just place the filter collar in the hole and its own weight seals the gasket. a little bungee to secure the top from getting bumped and we are good..

That little collar (& every other piece of tin ductwork) has a micro thin coating of oil on it from the factory to keep it from rusting if it sits around in a warehouse waiting to be sold for a long time... sometimes lower quality tape will become unstuck from that down the road... if you think the tape acts like it will come loose get a spray can of starting fluid or gumout carburetor cleaner (Maybe windex would be ok... just some kind of oil cutting agent formula 409 etc.) & spray down & wipe off & let dry the metal surfaces that will be in contact with the sticky of the tape... &... after you cleaned it & have applied the tape warm it up real well with a hairdryer... it will make the tape adhere to the metal much better... & there are different grades of tape too ... you can spend $2 or $20 on a roll... there is duct tape so good that if you wrap it around your finger & stick it back to itself it's almost impossible to remove without cutting it off... I meant the tape not the finger...
