I've been reading these threads and have found them both inspiring and helpful. I've decided to try my hand at this for the first time in ages (35 years)... Boy the technology has changed.

I've invested in the following hardware:

(1) 20" x 36" x 64" silver Mylar-lined grow tent
(1) Gen 3 UFO LED grow light
(4) T5 HO 6500k lamps
(1) Heavy-duty timer
(1) 6" Clip-on fan (for air circulation)
(1) Thermometer / Hygrometer
(1) Can 33 fan/filter/flange combo w 6" flange and 270 cfm inline fan (drum)
(1) 1.5 gal Honeywell evaporative humidifier
(1) Bluemat drip auto watering system w 5 gal water reserve and kit for 6 plants.

Soil and nutrients:

(3) Promix Ultimate Organic soil 1 cu ft PH 5.5-7 (sweet soil)
(3) Perlite 8 qt bags
(1) Roots Buddha Grow bottle
(1) Roots Buddha Bloom bottle

My space is unique that it is subterranean thus keeping a very constant 69f evening, 76f daytime temp and humidity is easily controlled (current 65% steady). I am watering using spring water taken from my sump pump and stored in an 80 gallon cistern.

I'm at 21 days growing Auto Berry Fems (Blueberry x Grapefruit x Lowryder) and 1 Mango Auto Fem. Just fertilized with half strength Buddha Grow (1tsp) as I've heard that auto's really don't need a lot of fertilizer, especially when young.

I'm an organic gardener and am applying some of my techniques to this first attempt. My soils and fertilizers were purchased from a cannabis grow shop. In my vegetable garden I grow huge produce as well as prolific flowers. I can only hope that my garden karma favors this effort. Here goes! Time can't pass fast enough, I can't wait until harvest.

Here's a video of my set-up and some shots I took 1/29 @ 19 days...

I may have experience with growing things from seed but like any good farmer, I've always learned soooo much from others. So please, please, please chime in with any tips, suggestions or observations you feel like sharing.

Best, Rhyce Saroni!

You might stop into introductions and post up a hi and point to this grow log.
Good Luck!

Good Luck!

Thanks Grey Bear! This place is a great resource and community. I'll do that. Going to post an update now so I'll get to that after.

Day 22 progress pictures - I've got a mutant!

Ok, vaped some Girl Scout Cookies and got inspired so I figured I'd do an update! These little babies have really started to take off. I guess this would be the beginning of full on vegetative stage. I'm expecting that these will 'take off' from what I've seen of others examples. The soil felt perfect and showed some real good signs of bio-organism development or as I like to call it 'live soil'.

I'm thinking of putting a couple of worms in each pot to aid in oxygenation and fertilization of the soil. I've had great luck with this in the garden and thought I'd try it here. Anybody else do this?

Oh yeah. One of my Auto Berry's is a mutant. It'll be interesting to watch this one grow. I'm calling it my Mutant Teenage Ninja plant.TaNg's Thang2-1-2015 22 days 007.jpg...

Here are some more of the others. It's hard to tell the Mango from the Berry's.

Finally here is a side shot close up to give an idea of upward and outward growth...Screenshot 2015-02-01 21.16.30.jpg

That's all for now, Rhyce :Smoke no Evil:

I don't really know about the worms RS, I don't think it could hurt.
But I will see if some organic guys can look in here, as I think they would be the best ones to advise you.

Hi Rhyce, welcome to AFN. Can't answer your question regarding worms but the plants are looking good and sounds like a nice setup. Autos are typically cal/mag hogs in particular when growing under LEDs I would be giving it with each watering. You may also want to consider a soil type pH probe to your equipment list. I know some organic growers don't worry about pH but it may be of help while you get your soil dialed in.

I grew Autoberry 2 years ago and it is one of my favorites. Best yielding autoflower I have grown and also one of the strongest. H

Looks great! Your work is mostly done. Just let them do their thing. You'll notice that their growth schedule is a bit different than photos. You'll think they aren't growing and then BAM!

Hey Oldster, you are right I'm one of those organic gardeners who never tests PH. I've always relied on my techniques. However, given the investment I've got in these and my curiosity in just how good my methods are, I'm going to take your advise and get a PH tester (better safe than sorry).

I also didn't know about the cal/mag appetite so I'll start adding that I've been using a gallon of water to soak all six plants when I water them. So next watering (about 2 days from now) I'll add some cal/mag to the mix. How much per gallon, any caveats I should know about?

Hi again RS, your ladies are looking good! Auto Berry is a strain I would like to grow in the future so I subbed in.

Hi Ryce, my cal/mag is 3-5 ml per gallon. No caveats I can think of, Epsom Salts and gypsum can provide the same if you want a DIY approach.

As to the pH tester the Accurate 8 is probably the best for soil use. Happy Growing
