New Grower Auto Flower Hydroponic First Time Grow

Could use some feedback on several fronts regarding my first time hydro grow.

I am waiting on Jock Horror feminized + auto flower, and Bubblelicious feminized + auto flower seeds. I have a 2X4 grow tent fully vented with fans, 400w HID tube style vented lamp and a Botanicare ECONO JET 2' X 2' Ebb and Flow Growing system. Im using Rock Wool Grow Cubes in 6"X6" square pots.

I am going to use only 4 pots / plants for this first grow.

I need help on the following:

I have 2 HID bulbs, 1 HPS and 1 MH. How should I use the bulbs during the different grow stages?

I plan on flooding every 6 hours for 8 minutes, is that right?

I plan on 20/4 light cycle, should I flood during the night cycle?

What PPM and PH should I target for these strains and this environment?

Any other tips and or tricks for this setup and strains would be much appreciated.

Well, your 400 watts of high intensity light sounds like a good match for your 2x4 area, and the fact that the light is vented and you have a fan will help you control temperature. Either HPS or MH is ok through veg, but when flowering use HPS. I haven't grown or seen the strains you mention, but I looked them up on Attitude. They describe each of them as "medium" height. In hydro, that means it will potentially be a monster, and my only question is whether or not you can fit 4 plants on a 2x2 table. Hopefully someone who has seen one of these units in operation will chime in... There are some good threads here on AFN giving feeding recommendations. Go easy on the feeding, less is more... Biggest tip: check and control your pH. Good luck with those beans!

OK, as a first timer you will need a complete understanding of what it is you're trying to do before you drop that first seed. Start by reading all the sticky threads that apply to your situation. The general information you will find applies to pretty much all autoflower strains, including the ones you've selected. There are also lots of good videos on youtube; check out the ones by Jorge Cervantes. Although he doesn't specifically talk about autoflowers, he has lots of good pointers on setup and growing in general. When you feel you understand what you need to do, it would be a great idea to germinate a couple of bagseeds and run them at least long enough to start growing some roots into your nutrient solution. If they look good after a couple of weeks go ahead and tear them out and get the real seeds going. Good luck and get reading....
