New Grower Auto Vertigo (Paradise) and AK47 (Vision)

Thanks for the link! I'll try this on the next grow along with the soil and tap water changes. I'm pretty satisfied with how this first yield is looking, but I definitely want to improve my methods.

I know there are a lot of tips on when to harvest, but since you've grown this strain, when did you decide to chop 'em? I'm probably at like 5% amber trichs right now, but the leaves are still mostly green. Especially on the the smaller vertigo, that one hasn't shown any signs of yellowing.

looking good i just popped an ak49 from vision she gets nice and bushy ! how you you rate the smell from her ?

The smell is kind of skunky, which means it's more recognizable than the vertigos I'm growing with their citrus-like smell. Good smell, but somewhat strong! I run a carbon filter on my exhaust, so the smell is nearly non-existent outside my tent. When I switched to the new tent, I wasn't able to hook up my exhaust the first couple days. The ak47 had just begun flowering at that point, but the odor was noticeable throughout my house. I can imagine that it'll get quite odorous these last few weeks.

Vertigo Day 70

The 2 vertigos are now 70 days old. Breeder says 60 days, but they definitely weren't ready at 60. They haven't had nutes in almost 2 weeks because I thought that they were getting close to the end of their life.

I'm thinking of chopping them soon. Maybe even today depending on what others have to say. I've read the numerous threads on when to harvest, however, there are TONS of differing opinions. Although the leaves haven't fully yellowed, there is already a decent number of amber trichs showing up in places. I'm struggling a little to see the difference between cloudy and clear because of the light on my magnifier. The shorter vertigo has basically no yellow leaves, but shows cloudy trichs with some amber.

Looking at these pics, would you chop it now or wait?

Sample @ 70 days

I cut off one of the lowest branches to take a sample. The branch I cut came off of the very bottom of the plant. Buds still look nice even if they're slightly less ripe than those on the top.

Partial harvest

Tonight, I chopped the top off of the taller of the two vertigos. Trichs were showing a decent number of amber with the rest being cloudy. I haven't seen much growth in these over the last week or so. There's a lot more on the plant to be chopped, and maybe now the lower flowers can get more light for the last few days. The two chopped pieces weigh 82 grams wet (top=67, random bottom branch=15). The top buds are super dense!

I chopped the tallest vertigo today at 74 days from seed. Wet=442g. Based on what I've read that should leave between 66g (15%) and 88g (20%) dry. I'll update the actual weight in a week or so. I'm going to let the other vertigo go a little longer since all the leaves are still green and there are few ambers. It'll produce at least half of what the first did, and the ak47 should out produce both. This first grow has surpassed my expectations. I don't think it would have went as well without all the good information here! :Sharing One:
