Lighting Autocobs and Mephisto...by slowandeasy

No wonder why my ears were ringing.

The reflectors are definitely for taller ceiling heights. From all the spot testing I measured 25% higher par across the whole 2x2 coverage area. 25% on an already intense light is a lot. Monday or Tuesday I'll have them added to the website for anyone interested.

Hey Big, just decided what I am going to do with that little 36x20 tent. I just happen to have extra parts for many different options! I have everything except enough small pots, I just need to grab 7 more new 1 gal pots. So since I did grow a some 24 Carat and somee Sour Cracks with Biotabs, I know somewhat to expect. I think that the Sour Crack has more of a potential to get larger, I had a couple branchy phenos. Not what I would consider SOG style. However the 24 Carats didn't seem to Branch as much, a giant main cola and some smaller ones, not much stretching...But that was with Biotabs and my first run with them. I will not be using Biotabs with either of these. I will be running 8 24 Carats in 1gal pots with a reservoir, drip stakes, and pump/timer. Also I will be making homemade Airdomes. I am very impressed with how well they work in Coco. But I will be making a smaller version for the 1 gal pots. Pretty excited about this! 110 watts of Autocobs, 8 plants, let's see what happens. Something tells me I will yield pretty decent. This will be by far the lowest wattage grow and most micro syle of growing ever done by myself. But I am super pumped to try it out. People I gave samples of 24 Carat and Sour Crack to really liked them. And I have hundreds of seeds...So I am glad they like them!!! Went nuts on the Black Friday sale.

Now that sounds like a lot of fun. The second you said 1gallon I cringed but should have known better. No one wants to water 3 times a day.

How do you catch your runoff? Also does the first plants in line get more water than the ones in the back with the drip system? I always wondered that

Yes, I have an individual flow valve for each plant. For multiple reasons. As you stated the first plants in line get a faster/more intense dose of not regulated, you have to toy with it to dial them in. And if you have a valve for each plant you can shut off the flow and remove the plant at harvest easier, plus If you can shut off and flush whenever and for however long you need. For a small set up like that I will elevate the plants with a plastic grate and have a tray to catch the runoff underneath. I will just pump the water out of the tray as needed. I am going with 1 gal pots to fit 8 in that small of a space, the pump/timer can be set to the second. So, you have to watch the cycles for a bit to see exactly how wet they get. I just am doing this for fun. And I have all the parts lying around.

You just motivated me. I'm going all in and doing a manifold, individual lines and halos. Not sure how I'll do it yet but I was thinking the same drain to waste I do now with a 1 or 1 1/2 pvc along the back wall. 9 3/8" lines, 3 to each of the 3 flood tables with valves and calling it a day. I have to work out a few things as my setup now is basically a res with a pump to a 5gallon elevated bucket with lines off of that and a return to the res.

I like the halo rings, they spray like a shower head, but all the way around your pots. I use round Pots with them. Make sure you have a good timer and individually control each plants flow as needed. The plants can change how much they drink.

I used to use a halo to hand water my pots. It worked amazingly well then the stalks got to big and I couldnt fit it around then any more. Sure best the wand.

I just completed a 1/2 gallon pot grow. It was a neglected plant but it did have some size to it. The quality was horrible though. I ended up throwing the whole plant away.

Starting 8 24 Carat seeds tonight...they will be in 1 Gal pots from start to finish with drip stakes. Big, I didn't forget about you. Been up at the Hospital with my mom, haven't been to the bank. Looking forward to seeing what the 6500k do for me when mixed with the 3500k.
