You say no nutrients, but molasses contains sulfur and magnesium. pH between 6.5 and 6.8, 6.0 is too low for soil.

It's unsulphured and 29mg isn't what I would consider a nutrient

it's the FFOF shwag soil, mate,.. Often as not, OF proves to be too hot for some auto's, and worse, their quality control is a joke anymore,.. [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] problem soil in here, no contest! Tip burning like that hints at a sudden late breakdown of components...many folks getting bags in the low 5's pH- :nono:... undercooked, off pH garbage IMO,... some folks get OK bags, so it must come down to local sourcing and mixing,... best find a way to test in-pot pH, what you put in is no reflection of what the pot is, too many other influencing factors once in there! Accurate 8 soil pH probe is a good choice for the $$,... Di water has no buffering minerals (CaCO3) in it, so this will make matters worse, not better for acidic pH,... COB's are fine at that height, this is not a light burn issue,... start watering with harder water, tap that's dechlorinated, and/or add Ca-Mg that not nitrate based entirely.. it's the carbonate part that's involved mostly in pH buffering,... molasses has significant amounts of Ca, Mg and lesser K,... a little Fe too,...
