BUMP - hows everybody getting on with Autopot systems and Airdomes. Does anybody think the Autopot XL system (25L) instead of usual 15L would make a good difference with todays Autoflowers or would 15L suffice?
Also, whats the score with putting an airstone in the reservoir? People say it affects the pH due to altering levels of Dissolved Oxygen content, but does that permanently affect the pH or does it drop, like, does the pH level out lower when nutes travelling down the tubes to pots and flooding the trays?
So BASICALLY, when i adjust the EC, and pH, should it be with an airstone running in the reservoir or not, if not, i guess i just set the pH to 6.2 in a seperate container and mix it in regardless???????
I cant find this info anywhere......

Hi fishtank.. The XL would benefit high yielding strains but the 15L should be adequate for most strains and set ups.. I have tried an airstone in tank which messed with pH and needed constant adjusting which is no good for holidays..a water pump on a timer works fine or as I do once at home...use a smaller tank which is filled daily... If using airdomes there will be no shortage of oxygen..:Sharing One:

Autopot advises a mixing pump to keep nutrient solution mixed.
The airdomes negate the need to oxygenate the rez.
I have 8.5 & 11 liter autopot pots, currently growing in 8.5 with coco, but not in an auto pot system, as I wanted to water by hand for my first coco grow to get to know the substrate.
Next grow will be in 11 liter autopots conected to the rez and using the float valves and air domes.
I won't be using an air stone in the rez just a mixing pump.
I understand that air stones can adjust the ph or make it difficult to measure ph, some people will take a cup of nute solution and measure form that.
You want to test the rez EC & PH 6.2 is higher than I go. I use around 5.8 PH but let it fluctuate slightly.
When you substrate dries it's ph will rise and then fall again when it is feed again. this fluctuation allows different minerals to be taken up as some need lower and some need high PH in the hydro range of 5.5 PH to 6.5 PH

small flow pump it is, 15L pots, pH @ 5.8 allowing mild fluctuations...... Cheers
