So I pulled a few autos from my garden today (Great White Shark and 3 White Yoda) as they were finishing up and I noticed 2 of the Yoda and the GWS had seeds. Not a ton of seeds but every bud site had about 1 or 2 pods. The bud otherwise finished fine and has a good 15-20% amber trichome distribution.

What I'm wondering is how does this happen? No bananas on the plants so hermie seems unlikely. I did 6 Great White Shark autos outdoors this season as well and none of them seeded. Rogue pollen seems unlikely as I have a few other strains that are clones (photoperiod girl scout, congo, green kush, etc) in the grow area and they are still about a week from finishing but have no seeds or bananas. Only these select autoflowers. Throughout flower I kept the area at around 75-80F, ~50% humidity.

The seeds themselves look nice with the telltale stripes so would these also have auto traits in them? This has got me confused so I'm hoping maybe more experienced autoflower growers might point me in the direction of solving this.

Its called "selfing" and there are a few different ways it can happen. Stress being one. You can look into "selfing" and see if any of the causes fit your situation!

Its natural preservation of its own future. I get a seed usually off every plant I grow

Totally agree....a friend of mine(with 50+years of grow experience), went through 20 years of growing using selfed seeds....i asked him about it and not once did he see any hermaphroditic traits in the selfed seeds offspring.

Yea man I've been growing like this over 25 years myself. Right now I have a seed or two on the durban poison and head band I have outside . each plant has one seed ill try and take pics when I go out again in a couple days

Thats weird, ive never heard of selfing. I got seeds my first grow, it took me 4 hours to find the nanner, it was way down on the inner bottom inside and under a bud, theyre hard to see

If its happening to all your plants of different strains, id bet theres a nanner hidden somewhere
