Since I had to pack away my tent and put it up again I swear to god my ballast has got louder? Any ideas on why or how I can solve this? Before you couldn't hear the hum from outside my bedroom now you can with ease to be honest.

What kind of lights are you using.,t5 or hps?
You could cover it with some foam insulation board.make a little box to cover it but leave one end open so it doesn't overheat or even a small fan to keep it cool.
Cheers I'd be too worried of causing a fire. Gonna try move it around and see if has any affect. Worst case when I get paid ill buy a new ballast that's designed with being silent in mind. Seen them on greens for 70 pounds and if it means no one years anything well to me security is priceless

Not sure to be honest it just seems louder but for same of 70pounds pay day ill buy a new one. Can't wait too put some pics up Monday the girls are looking good. 8 in there n can see myself getting my biggest yield yet
check to see if the ballast coil, should be a little box mounted on the interior, is loose ... second check with another lamp if that changes things ... an electronic switching type is more efficent and works at a higher frequency ... the ballast may not be the problem ...
