Last night I was up playing paparazzi with my girls and I noticed a few odd looking...growths on FastBud. She has been flowering 56 days and is on day 72 from seedling.

what in the name of sweet baby jesus is this? lol

I wanna say it looks like a teste, lol, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was, considering what a troubled youth she had. I've come across hermie bananas but....do they develop balls as well? Are balls like...the precursor to the nanners?

I don't believe that its (theres more than one so I guess they're is more appropriate) a calyx because it seems to have a completely cylindrical shape where as all the calyx...(es or s? haha) I've ever seen look more like a tear drop shape than anything else. But in the same breath, it looks like it may have pistils coming from it and maybe even a few trics. So I really dont know what to think.

Thoughts?

IDK but those trichs look sweet! :)

I am going to say it is a seed.

You know those random seeds that you find in a bud every so often? That is one of them.
It will almost certainly be a female.
Save it and see what you get.

:Sharing One:Hey there Mz. W'! It might be a seed, or a nut-sac, in either case, it ain't chick-parts! :roflcry: Yank it outta there I say,.. even if it's a seed, I have doubts about it's quality, origins, etc.,... whip out them tweezers GF, and get neutering-

aw man - trapper you have NO idea lol My 2 that are in flower are F-R-O-S-T-Y. Like Tony the Tiger frosty, lol

They stink to the high heavens too lol I <33 it....just dont know if my neighbors do hahaha.

Tron- ugggg. seed. How is that even possible when Im working from only female seed? lol I did have my last plant develop some nanners, but I didnt mess with them and they never opened. I harvested her like...3 days after seeing them. So...howd she get knocked up? lol
I will absolutely save them...but I thought that seeds from a herm'd female are more than likely going to be herm. themselves.

Gadzooks, can't even see the leaf....:)

waira...
you dont think AM2 is involved with this, do you?
like I said in the previous comment, her nanners never opened and I never attempted to remove them. So to ME the culprit for her boy parts isn't due to pollination but due to the plethora of other difficulties she's had/and or/has.

.....aren't the seeds IN the sac? lol whats the difference?

Seeds happen.
In your case, it is almost certainly self fertilization.
It could be a rogue piece of pollen you picked up and transferred to her, but that is doubtful.
If your curious or just tight on money for seed, my experience is you will get a female that MAY produce a few male flowers at the very end of its life cycle if you let her go long.
If you arent a breeder, I don't know what the hang up would be.

Do we need to have a birds and bees discussion? You see, when a daddy really loves a mommy they give each other lots of hugs and then... :roflcry:

The nut sac holds the...ahem...baby batter so to speak and the seed grows inside the girl parts. If it's a sac then you run the risk of it busting and contaminating your grow space with pollen. If it's a seed then no harm in keeping it around I suppose. Depends on whether you would want to dedicate grow space for a potential hermie or worse. I personally don't have much room so I usually don't bother with mystery seeds but some folks do.
