Hello folks!

Alrighty then... For take two I have 12 autos, 10 already in 3 gallon smart pots.

I started them all off in Light Warrior soil in 20oz. solo cups after paper towel germination. 100% germination!

10 of them are on day 10 and were transplanted today, 2 replacements just broke the soil today.

I'm using Firefox Ocean Forest for half and Roots Organic soil for half for my own research... :D

Soooo, what did you plant, Sapphire? Well I'm so glad you asked!

Originally 3 each:
Afghan Kush Ryder - world of seeds
Haze 2.0 - Dinafem
Original Amnesia - Dinafem
Pineapple Express - Barney's Farm

One AKR was replace with a Barney's Farm auto Sweet Tooth, one Amnesia was replaced with a free BlimBurn Auto AK that came with my order.

Baby pics (lol) - all are day 2, 5, 7 & 10

I'll post pics maybe tomorrow of the new 3 gal. smart pots I planted them in, give them a minute to breathe! LOL I'm thrilled to see how quickly they are growing, especially after the last grow was stunted from soil that was "too hot," and they never kept growing after day 3 or 4... I probably started them too early anyway, so luckily I had time to get this group going so it won't put me out of compliance when my photo plants flower...

Thanks for reading - questions, comments and suggestions always welcomed! :cough:

Woo! Good stuff, good stuff. :smokebuds: Best of luck to you, sapphire. :D

Hello again!

I'll tell you what, it's kind of overwhelming trying to document all of these plants individually, but so far I'm keeping pretty good records. Worry not tho, I'll post highlights here because WOW would we all get tired of going thru all these photos!

Here is a sample of a group shot over a period of days. The first is the day after the last photos when the babies were transplanted to the 3 gal. pots... They grew larger each day but really didn't start to develop new leaves until now, about a week later.

There is an in-between picture but no matter what I do to it, it loads upside down... Odd, so I skipped it. Anyone have a remedy for that issue? :helpme:

So anyway - I can see that transplanting probably does stunt the growth of the autoflowers (like many around the forum have warned lol), and I already have an idea about layering the hot soil and potting soil in the larger containers for next time and planting the sprouts there to begin with.

Anyway, here are some close-ups of each of the 4 (main) strains from today, Day 18:

One last observation until next time - I notice at this stage the plants all look pretty similar as far as the leaf shape, coloring, etc. In photosensitive plants you can really see a difference in the leaves between sativas and indicas. Is this because they all have a common Ruderalis genetic? I'm going to have to pay more attention to all the pics around the forum here! :)

Thanks for reading!

Maybe it's just cause they're seedlings - the reason why they all look like simliar phenotypes. Or they could have close enough ratios of sati, indi and rudi genes. Perhaps the genetics will become more pronounced as they grow. I, for one, will be following to have that question answered. ;) Nice grow sapphire.

Thanks for following along, gradolabs! :D I guess we'll find out together how the looks change as they grow up... LOL

Here's a shot of "the bench" this morning:

Y'all can see the backyard has been mowed from all that tall grass and it's ready for growing! I'll have my photosenstive MMJ growing along the fence where it will get the most light, and the autoflowers will be moved to sit in front of them. We already have 3 tomato plants going and will be planting peppers, cucumbers, herbs (and probably others) in the rest of the yard.

It was SO nice last year having a yard full of gorgeous plants - tho some did better than others LOL - and I'm so excited about adding the autos this year!

Here's a pic from last year - these are all photos... I love this stage, so pretty!

Anyway, happy growing everyone! Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear your comments :D

Heyy shapphire420! Looking good! I will watch your grow. I'm most curious about the Haze 2.0.
Good luck!

I'm so glad you're going to be watching, botlowsky :D I've enjoyed watching your super-tall ladies grow, looking forward to your next grow also.

Hello there Sapphire :smoke: ...You've come to the right place here at AFN! Welcome!... I tuned into this place in Jan., researching and generally just sniffing around, and found the folks here to be a good 'fit', with many willing, experienced and able folken to assist. There's certainly an overwhelming amount of info just in the forum posts alone, but don't hesitate to fire off ?'s to folks, especially asst. moderators, moderators, and other well documented members- they've helped me plenty! I just started my grow about a week behind yours, and am doing the outdoor thing too, in the same general climate. My thread is in this same forum, probably a page or two back... This is a very busy section, and unless you do frequent updates, your thread gets shuffled down the list quickly!
I'd say you've a fine start! You chose great soils, nice set -up, and fine strains (one possible exception: heads up on Barneys Farm products; reports on quality issues here that I've seen are hardly uncommon, sadly,... hermies/males/nongerm's, that sort of thing,.. fingers crossed 'cause Pineapple express is great strain otherwise!)... AKR should be classic indica stupification; Amnesia is very well liked here; Haze 2, ... look around for a grow of that... clearly sativa-dom. ....... Your babes look nice and healthy! It's a nice measure for me too, development-wise; like I said, I'm coastal central CA about a week behind, and my 3-pointer leaves are now showing up! Woo-hoo!! :dance2: This my first grow of AF's as well, and am very excited about this genuinely revolutionary development in MJ horticulture. BTW, what did you grow last season? I cut my teeth on Jack Herer/OG kush clones, and a single Pure Afghani (lucked out on 1 seed from an 1/8th!)-

About leaf shape, .... that is going to run the gambit, depending on what % sativa/indica/ruderalis ratio is, on the variables of phenotypic expression (seeds are like siblings, even the same strain/seed batch may show differences), and environmental/stress effects... :joint::shrug: yeah, pretty much! LMAO! Besides, early leaves aren't a reliable indicator anyway,... :toke: We're gonna have us some fun, yaaahh-boi! :brow: Cheers!

Hey PoKaLoLo and Waira, thanks for coming along for the ride :)

Waira, yes I heard about the Barney's Farm issues, but I'm hoping for the best! Of the 3 Pineapple Express I have growing now, one looks normal, one is kind of mutant and one is behind in development - so already the results are "inconsistent" and they aren't even 3 weeks old! LOL

Nice to meet another outdoor grower :five: and I look forward to following your grow also!

We put a tarp down on the yard and moved the autos down there. 3 week old pics coming tomorrow!
