Hello,

just one quick question. I am about to start my first grow and as i mention in an earlier post i will be using 2x600 watts hps. I will use 2x600 Mh for vegetive and after i will switch to hps.

now my question is as soon as my seeds are open and ready to place into soil i know i can use my 2x600 MH straight as long as i keep them away and safe from heat but i think it would be waste of energy and better i use the MH after the first ten days.

Which loght you think is the best to grow the seeds for the very first 1-2 weeks until i start the MH? (My grow room is 1.20x1.20 x 2.00 meters!

thank you !

A couple of T5 bulbs in the 6500k range would be perfect for seedlings and save you on electricity.

I use fluorescent in my veg room and have found that 2500 lumens per sq ft works well each 24 inch t5 ho put out 2000 lumens so for a 60cm*60 cm tent you would want at least 5 tubes. the 6 tube light will give 3000 lumens per sq ft and should work fine.600 watt of mh would be overkill in a space that small. a 250 hps would be adequate for flowering in that space and save a lot on your power bill

nk you for your reply but can you be more specific ?

Do i need 6 tubes for such space or 8 tubes?

found this .. Any good ??

Hello Coyote, my apologies for the late response, I just saw this question. Just a heads up for future reference since it looks like you are fairly new. When someone posts on your thread and you have another question or need a response, press the "Like" button on the bottom right hand of their post. It will alert them that you read it. They can look and see if there was a response then.

Anyways, on to your question. Yes, that fixture looks fine. I would probably go with the 6 bulb fixture but if you read the fine print they will only supply you with 2 bulbs with the fixture so make sure you make plans to purchase at least another 4 bulbs with it. I would probably buy another 6 or find a place to source them locally because shipping with T5 bulbs is real iffy. I have had several packs shipped and there is almost always at least one or two bulbs broken upon arrival.

As maurice pointed out in his post 2 600W MH is going to be waaaaay overkill in that tent. I have the exact same size tent I use for veg and seedlings and keep 1 600W digital ballast in there and normally have it dimmed to 400W. Even when I was using it to grow full size plants I never went over 600W. It is going to be difficult to cool as well if you don't have real good ventilation. Absolutely for sure you won't need both 600W in there. I suppose now that I have come to that point, I should probably ask, is your ballast dimmable? If so you can just dim it down to 250 or 400 and save yourself the money of getting the T5 if so. Even if not and you don't want to spend the money on the extra fixture you could raise your 600W too the roof and slowly lower it as the plants grow and can take more light. If you choose to do that it would eat up a little more electricity, probably around the 6 month mark you would have used enough extra electricity to buy the T5 fixture. Just a few of my thoughts. Best of luck and happy growing!
