Old Reviews Best soil for a beginner?

If your in England plant magics own brand soil is pretty good as a starter. Since its made specifically for English water, and it works well even with growers in hard water areas of England.

I have had the best results with Kellogs organic potting soil and Proven winners potting soil. They are fast draining, well aerated, ready to use mixes. Over watering is no fun. Get a bag of Jobe's organic rose and flower 3-5-3, Dr Earth organic rose and flower, or Espoma rose-tone. They will be so easy and effective if you follow the instructions. More is often less, that means less yield. They eat light, and only use nutrients sparingly. I have found rose fertilizers to give the most bud sites and stickiest/heaviest buds. Roses are also way more finicky than weed. So if it makes them bloom strong, then weed will love it.

Briman can you elaborate on why pro mix bx for mh and hps.... I recently ordered a new setup and tent ill be running 600w mh/hps

Ill be using promix bit was looking at hp what is the advantage of BX
What Brinman is saying is that pro mix makes different types of soil less mixes . Due to the fact that hps needs an ambient temperature of 75 to 78 you need vermiculite in the mix to retain water due to the ambient temp hence PRO MIX BX which contains vermiculite. With LEDS you need a ambient temperature of 82 to 85 degrees so PRO MIX HP high porosity has no vermiculite so as not to retain water which is what LEDS require in order to grow huge plants. I prefer Sunshine mix # 4. But they all add lime to help stable the PH
