I have 80x80 cm tent and want to test some photoperiod strains. I grow in soil. I know the longer I veg, the bigger yield will be - but also electricy bill. But if I compare 80-90 days autoflower and 60-70 days flowering on photo strains... I get 20-30 days for veg period. Will this give me better yields than autos at the same time?

My question is: what is the best technique for indoor photoperiod strains?

I dont think theres a general "best technique". Only whats the best technique for you. [emoji6]

For me its Sea Of Green 12/12 from seed. Packing smaller pots close together not allowing the plants not to branch alot, making just 1 big cola. All pots in a tray and just pour the jug of nutes in the tray, easy as pie. [emoji16]

I have tried 5x5 1L pots and 3x3 3L pots. Not sure which I like better, let me upload a pic for you when lights on! [emoji106]

Edit. Well maybe there is a best technique if you have specific goals in your grow but you didnt state any. [emoji16]

In the same time frame i doubt a photo will pull as much as an auto, since autos generally grow at accelerated rates compared to photos, especially in early stage veg.

Thats exactly how i would do it if i wanted to try a whack of strains out...grow them in smaller pots SoG style.

My photoperiods' indoor are way slower than my autos,rudys pack on flower at a way faster rate and like 912 said in veg they are unbeatable as well . hemp and ruderalis show a vigor an a growth rate alot of the hybrids or marijuana bred by people don't show .the heartyness and vigor of mother natures breeding programs definitely can't be beat.

That's some awesome infos, thank you!
Goal is as much yield as possible under my 280W COBs. So if I try SoG, I need much more seeds, nutes, soil, pots...

Yea, I know hydro/coco is hard to beat, but let's put that variabile in the corner for now. Let it be soil as I writen in first post.

And what's your techique?

@912GreenSkell

I have not yet tried autos in a sog, current plants probably have ~10 days left(day 70 from sprout today). Perhaps ill do 9 autos after this, same pot size, same light, same trichs and compare the g/watt/time just for fun.

Im currently trying my first seed run 2x nl5 x haze, 2x double dutch and a thai landrace. They wont be finished anytime soon so I could try with autos meanwhile. [emoji1]

And yeah you guys with years and years of experience probably know better, i just like this grow method because its really easy and i get lots of donkey dicks in my small tent. [emoji16]
