Extraction BHO extraction

I usually make BHO under the hood of my Explorer, while it's running.. I use latex gloves and polarized sunglasses, am I going to be okay rob?

And some may not know who have not been in the military but a flashover could easily be caused by a stray static spark.I treat it like handeling explosives.Well i will when I do a run of BHO anywho.No metal on your person will help eliminate this..maybe a grounding strap too...?

@ The Dude. This will build your tolerance up pretty quickly from all my reading. The wife and I are using it for occasional severe pain relief. It has helped Juliet better then I could have ever imagined. I have personally seen doctor's fill her with pain meds and it still not help her. Two dabs about ten minutes apart and she is no longer in pain. Its gone. . I love bubble hash and the alcohol free tincture and they have their place but for a somewhat easy product to make I think BHO has a place to.

I hate to be a party pooper but once again I would refrain from using any electrical devices during the extraction (like a fan). :smokebuds:

Also if used properly there is zero danger using glass extraction tubes. Not sure where pressure can build up in a open ended tube.

Allot of good points in here a few more to add ,even making bho outside you need to be carefull To not be next to an a/c unit or any other electronics that could ignite a cloud of butane
Another thing someone said they use a mason jar I would not recommend using one for the reason of the screw on lid that you are using is metal and any butane that touches it is extracting it so you will be vaporizing tiny metal particles in your bho that's why you only use stainless steel or glass :smokebuds:

OK there are 100s of tutorials about the risks and dangers of making bho. I'm not going there. I'm just going to throw out a couple of tips that might save y'all some cash. I came back from the cannabis cup and started my bho making adventure. The tubes are no brainer. However some purge items I've seen marketed towards bho making are actually from other industries. Duh.

First one I saw were these silicone mats. There is a brand of them out there aimed towards bho. Nice looking pads to. I just don't want yet another " paraphernalia" item to have to hide. They are the exact same silicone baking mats you can get at almost any cooking supply store and the work like a charm. No more scraping glass. I took a pic of the one I'm using. Got it at bed bath and beyond for $14.95. Don't get me wrong , the one made by oil slick is about the same cost.

The other big ticket item I saw is the hand vacuum purge system. The pump is from a break bleeder kit. In fact if you buy a "break bleeder" kit it comes with a assortment of vacum hoses and valves. Like a DIY wet dream.

Now hands down the easiest vacuum chamber with the least amount of work involved it a meat marinader chamber. They are widely avelable and cheap. Just attach your pump line and vacuum away.
