Hi Guys,
my dilemma is this,to re-pot or not??????
Most people say re-potting Auto's is NOT a good idea! They say start in final pots. They also say,if you re-pot,use the 'Teir' method so there's less stress.
BUT,as i've decided to go with the 'start in final pot method' as i'm very lazy and its less mess and hassel.
Problem is, you have to have your plant growing AND finishing in Hot soil like Allmix or Playgron, but how can a newly sprouted seedling go in these without being burned to death:firedevil: Thats when i started to think of Light mix, would it be suitable for a seedling to a harvested plant AND how does this compare to the other two regarding one soil, start to finish? Could light mix work???? leaving out Allmix al together hence NO burn at start?????

ANY help please Guys as this ones doin my head in!!!

You can use the Light Mix for the whole grow, just realize that since it doesn't contain a lot of nutrients it will be up to you to supply them to the plant throughout the grow. It would be more along the lines of a soil less grow, like a lot of us do using Pro Mix. If you want to use both then the tiered method would be the choice. Light in the cups, All in the pot. Or you could fill the pot with All and hollow out the center and fill it with Light. The seedling will start out in the Light and eventually grow out into the All Mix.

If you dont mind adding all your nutes and controling the whole of the plants feed then light mix. I use light mix and find it very easy im also sort of new to groing arount 4mths experience you carnt realy go wrong with the Bizz :booya:

Get a 2 liter soda bottle or 1/2 gallon milk carton. Bury it in all mix or plagron, then pull it out and backfill with light mix. That'll give you a nice pocket to start a seed.

Muddy,
hollow out the final pot that contains Allmix and fill it with Lightmix ! That method will cut out using the Teir method and re-potting but still using two soils!!! Brilliant!!! Never heard of that method before sounds easy with NO hassel and really makes sense!
Very pleased! Thanks very much mate:jump:
ps....What do you think of Playgron Batmix ? I've heard great reviews, alot of people prefer it to the Allmix
Also, i'm guessing you could use that great 'Hollowing out' method with Batmix as final/main pot soil? How long would it be roughly until you start adding Nutes if done this way?

I'm not familiar with the bat mix. I assume from the name that it contains a lot of guano? If so, I would treat it like the All Mix.

Using the Light/All combo in either the tiered or hollow out method, I doubt you'll have to feed for at least the first 3-4 weeks, maybe a bit more.
