i have noticed a 240 ho and a 240 uv only diffference i see is no blue in the ho any comment on difference of two which is best

My buddy has a bs240ho on his clone table. I have a bs 240 uv in my auto sog tent. Flower with uv and veg clone with ho! Both are sweet, what are you looking at using it on?

wanting to use it on autos pk's have just finished getting set up in a 2x4x5 lighthouse bought two 240 uvs for the space as it seems from what i have been reading will be required for proper lighting also as i am new i try to gleam all the info i can from here and the mods are the greatest what two cents i can put in is be carful buying on amazon i saw a 240 bs on there for 235.00 had all the right pictures lighthouse emblem and star on photos i ordered the light on the 18th of jan
received on the 27 opened the box the light had no markings on it and the paperwork inside listed it as an aquarium light i am waiting on amazon to make the seller refund my money and send me a shipping label to return and have already ordered one from gothem just be aware of SUPERSELLER ON AMAZON

I was thinking of getting a blackstar chrome 405w. does anyone grow with this? how do you like it? My tent is 3x5x6 would it be enough light for my space?

Thanks for any help

i run four blackstars and have had them as close as six inches to seedlings with no bad result's, except for the bs chrome i have that's another beast intirley.
i love you mr tang!

Can you talk more about the distance you use with the bs chrome. I have the 270w six spot chrome and started plants 36" away and the internodes stayed very short. I get the impression that the lenses on the chrome are very strong.

I have a 270w chrome, I actually prefer my regular BS 240's though. I've had it for several months and I still feel like I'm "testing" it out. So far my 240's outperform the chrome(the 270 FSF model anyway).
Just my opinion though killa, I know some guys that love their chromes. :smokebuds:

I have a 270w bs chrome in a tall 24"x36" by 7foot tall sativa box and a shorter 20"x30" by 4 foot tall auto box with 150hps and 175mh in it.

I want to add a four spot chrome to the tall box and two 240w black stars to the shorter box taking the hps and mh out.

So I'm interested in your opinion of the differences in the two. My uneducated opinion is the regular bs is better for shorter plants and the chrome is better for taller plants. Is that close or am I way off.

Under the 270 chrome I have a Mekong high from Dutch passion that has almost stopped stretching and is 38" tall with farthest nodes about 3.5" apart.

Now that's my first led grow and first mostly sativa but I'm very happy with the compactness of the plant and didn't know if the Mekong high just stayed compact on its own or if the chrome had something to do with it.

I started the seed 36" away from the 270w led and the nodes were so close I left it at that distance till it grew with in 12" of light then raised the light to maintain 12". I went 12-12 at 12" tall

Anyone with thoughts on the difference between the two lights and how to use each one to its advantage?

sounds like you've got the right idea in mind the lenses on the chrome will help with getting thru the taller plants and if your going with a shorter or auto grow then the older blackstars with more spectrum coverage and lower price should be fine
