Lighting BlackStar The Manual

Does anyone have the disassembly pdf for the 240w or similar? Half the bank is out!!

Luckily mine was less than a year but definitely seeing a not so good trend here. Modulars are more better.

No instructions needed to diagnose open it up, switch the 2 power supplies. If same side is dead MB. If opposite side is dead power supply. I guess those are instructions haha.

:peace: unplug first...

Swapped power supplies and no joy! Both supplies good to one side. Neither on the other.
SHIT! :cuss:

Contact them and see what they'll do about it. If you're still in warranty they'll repair it for free.

I found this one at a pawn shop for $95. It'll need the LED board. Wonder how much they want to just ship me one? I'll put it in myself.

sorry to hear about your trouble's od. iwould use half the panel, save some money and replace with somthing new, you dont know how many hour's are on a light from a pawn shop. blackstar's are not the best panel out there, but i have had good luck with them. and they are affordable. i would love to have a couple of grow northern's, or more chrome's from blackstar. no money! the chrome build level is much higher than the standard blackstar's
and the same with gn. use cfl's, half a panel, anything! till you have the buck's for a new panel "My 2 cents":Sharing One:

My turn, again....... 1/2 the panel out on a replacement to one that went less than a year about 3 months since I got it still less than a year from original purchase.

:peace:BS

I'm starting to be really disappointed with the limited warranty and short life on these things.. I don't think I've heard of a member having one for more than two years without it going out.

If I were you I'd call them up and complain. especially since you're in warranty. Make some noise about the trouble it's caused you and how you've done journals. See if they'll do an exchange for a new unit or a 2014 unit for all your trouble.

I wish I had just got a MS0006 at this point. I really hope the 2014 model will hold up, the 3 year warranty makes me feel better about it.
