Hey guys, thought I'd do a quick update to let you guys know where I'm at.
Yesterday I began soaking my clay pebbles in tap water set at PH 5.8. I also dropped my seed into a shot glass of water at the same time.
Within less than an hour the seed had sunk to the bottom of the glass so I placed her into a plastic container between two folded sheets of damp tissue.
Less than 24 hours ahead and the seed had cracked open and had a tiny white tap root starting to emerge, no longer than 1mm. I then placed her into a Root Riot cube which was submerged for 30 seconds in a solution of: 1L tap water, 4ml Rhizotonic and PH'd to 5.8. The cube was then placed back into the container.
I made sure the seed was covered with a corner piece of RR cube and covered the top of the container with cling film, leaving a small gap for air. The container was then placed into the grow tent under two modules on one MS006 unit.
The LED is between 30-35" away from her right now which should be fine according the the GN manual, sometimes I have to raise them slightly higher than recommended - no idea why.
Anyways that's where we're at folks, I will continue to update with any progress as usual so stay tuned - hope you all have a great new year!
p.s if for any reason this seed doesn't take I should be receiving some S_a_H seeds soon so there's a good chance you may see that grow instead ^^

Hey guys, speedy as ever this girl has popped up late last night and just dropped her shell casing this morning, she looks a little strange so just giving it some more time until I take any pics. The first tap root has emerged through the bottom of the root riot cube so I was just wondering when is the correct time to transfer the cube into the net pot? should I wait for lots of roots to come out of the root riot or is the one enough? thanks in advance to anyone that can help!
Alriiiiiiiight! So I've been waiting for the site issues to get resolved before updating because I've attempted it twice now and then got cut off! :no: I think not having access to AFN 24/7 will have shaken a few daily routines, this place is a home for all of us and I truly miss it when it's down. Thanks to all the mods and workers making this forum happen :smokebuds:
Okay on with the update..things are actually looking okay! I felt a bit nervous starting off a seedling without AFN online as back up but I tried to to remember everything I'd picked up from my first attempt at DWC along with all the helpful advice I've been given over the past few months. This girl had a speedy germination, soaked and placed into a Root Riot cube on the 29th December and popped her head up on new years day. Literally a 24 period and she was above ground, dunno if it's because I kept the seed fresh in the fridge, never done that before. The only strange thing was that when she was beginning to open up, it looked as though she was growing another seed out of her stem which was very odd, it turned out to be some extra seed casing (I think) attached to one of her cotyledons which I removed the next day..panic over
I placed her into the netpot once her tap root was about an inch long, I'm sure I could have waited longer but I was worried about stunting her so made the transfer. She seems happy with my decision and has grown enough for me to completely fill the netpot with pebbles. As soon as I spot roots popping through I'll make up the first res:
60ml Rhizo
PH 5.6
EC up to 0.8 (1.2 on my meter) with Canna Start
I may start that res bubbling later tonight in case she can't find any food, don't want her going yellow like my first try! I thought I should also do a short comparison between Rockwool and Root Riot cubes since I've used them both now.
Advantages of rockwool: slightly cheaper, retains moisture for longer
Advantages of Root Riot: easier to handle, healthier seedling
Obviously they both get the job done but I'll be sticking with the RR's from now on, purely because she looks happier. Maybe I'll try RR to rockwool to netpot next time, seen Mr Ganjamoto using the technique with much success and an abundance of roots.
Other than that there isn't a lot to report, I'll update when we have roots so please enjoy the pictures and come back soon

You can see it looks as though she hasn't shed her casing but..
This is when she was transferred to the net pot with a make shift humidity dome, the tent is sitting at 60% RH now so no need for it any more.

nice to see you stopping by my thread once again. I'm not sure if the lack of photos is down to me or the issues that AFN has been facing lately but I can see them on my screen? I can't however see anyone's badges..strange. I will be updating shortly so hopefully you will have better luck viewing the next photos. How goes the efforts for the first 1000g auto? If anyone can make it happen it will be you and your sexy lighting set up! :smokebuds:
Hey all, I'm back with an update! Yesterday my little girl showed roots starting to emerge from the net pot, I'd set up the res 24 hours prior to this so now she has access to some nice seedling food, 60ml rhizo, 0.8 EC with Canna Start PH 5.6. I tried to take a couple photos each day to show her growth so far whilst the site was down but she's still a baby, yesterday was her technical Day 1. Hope you guys can see/enjoy the pictures

I missed the 9th, that was the day the roots started to emerge, classing it as Day 1.
January 10th (Day 2) :
There's a few thinner roots emerging in places today also, can't really see them in that last picture.

Hi Pal23 I can see the photos on screen today.... I think the lack of yesterday must be site issues.... I can see some peoples badges but not my own... The lady looks to be coming along nicely... I've a feeling that this grow is going to run so smoothly for you and be absolutely awesome... As for the quest for the first fully documented 1000g+ auto.... https://www.autoflower.org/f52/auto...ow-party-dwc-dutch-pro-nutrients-26458-8.html Miss Princess Uma is coming along nicely she has a gorgeous frame and branching like I've never seen before she is absolutely covered in fat mouse sized buds which haven't begun to fill out yet... if they chub out to rat sized like Jorilla expects she should break the 1K barrier... and hopefully inspire folk to invest in some decent kit rather than some plop 50-60 euro 600w system off the net... Rant over..... I look forward to your next update....

Are you still at 30" height with the 2spot MS006? I've got some 10 day old babies in the cab - had them at 24" on four spots and they we're crawling along so i just swapped out to 2 - Thinking my light may be a little close! Whatddaya reckon? ^_^
