New Grower Blue Mystic

Things are coming along nicely. Current grow is either in jars or waiting to be cut. I want to let this one 1/2 bush grow longer to see if it significantly improves the high. Pistils are all brown and it hasn't produced any new ones in about a week. But, the leaves are mostly green and the trichs are primarily clear so I'll be playing it by ear for the next week or two. I'm nearly 3 weeks into my next grow. I used the same Lamberts organic potting soil mixed 1 to 1 w/ Perlite. Based on size, the plants are slightly behind my last grow. Starting w/ their next watering I'm switching to distilled water ... it costs about $1 for 2 gallons and I think my mg problems stem from too much calcium in the water . I've got a couple quarts of Cal/Mag so using distilled water should only add about $10-$20 to the cost of the grow.

Parts of the last Blue Mystic harvest have cured one month with the rest being over 6 weeks ... the 1/2 bush I allowed to grow longer is significantly more powerful than the earlier harvest ... almost unpleasantly so ... now that it's been curing a month (4 weeks) it's taste has mellowed but vaping a full bowl between 2 people is more narcotic than mellow ... I'll be setting the zip I got from the 1/2 bush aside for special occasions when I want to get somebody totally fucked up ... The rest of the harvest is smooth and mellow though I don't taste any blueberries ...

Harvest would condense down to 4 properly filled 1/2 gal Mason jars ... not bad for three plants ... :dance:

Three plants going currently ... all seven weeks old today ... 2 Nirvana Northern Light autos ... happy and healthy but unimpressive buds ... they delayed sexing until about 4 weeks ... stand a little under 30 inches w/ pot and have been LST'd which caused good growth on one and did little for the other. Soil pH has been in the 6.0 - 6.4 range all along ...

Third plant is a Nirvana auto Blue Mystic ... this plant has been a mystery from week 2 ... started it under 160 actual watts of daylight CFL ...did not want to grow, just stayed healthy and short ... week two I moved it in w/ the NLs and it exploded, quickly surpassing them in height and budding a good 2 weeks before NLs ... all three same soil/ same water/ same nutes. After first water NLs soil was at 6.2 and Blue Mystic soil dropped to 5.2 and started dropping leaves . Each water thereafter was fine and the BM started coming back and is building buds nicely. 10 days ago I watered all the same again ... BM dropped to very low 5's and NLs stayed at 6.3 ... this was after several waterings working great ... so I flushed the BM and it's been soggy and showing deficiencies ever since, but growing sticky frosty buds very nicely ... the plant is 1/3 the size of the NLs and nearly leafless but I'll bet it produces an equal harvest ... The BM is going to get straight purified ph'd water w/ cal mag if it ever dries out ...

Current auto Northern Light & auto Blue Mystic grow is 8 weeks old today ... I expect the auto Blue Mystic to be done in about 2 weeks w/ the NLs taking about 4 weeks more ...
Photos are of the 2 NLs and the best bud on the NLs ...

Harvested the auto Blue Mystic on 3/20 ... will be jarring it today for the first RH reading ... should be very close to a zip once dried. Harvested about 75% of one of the Northern Lights today (12 weeks) ... Not as frosty & sticky as the BM but nice hard buds w/ mature pistils. One NL still stands unmolested. It was the taller of the two and had a bit more Sativa in it than the one just harvested ... Will be taking that one down in about a week.

The buds on the paper plate are Blue Mystic harvested at 12 weeks ... plant was badly abused but still produced OK. Buds in the box are the top half of the more mature Northern Lights, harvested at 12 weeks . The plants in the closet are; the lower half of the Northern lights in box, and the slower to mature NL which will probably come down the middle of next week ... that one will be about 2 jars full for a projected harvest of just shy of 4 properly filled 1/2 gal jars from 3 plants. Sorry about the sideways pics ...

Which strain of NL do you have? I have NLxBBA going,,prob 3 more weeks on mine,, Your Blues turned out great man! Soon I hope to get 2 Bulldog 16s from Fero LEDs,, fed up with T5s and HPS/MH chit always messin up! lol

The Northern Light is an automatic from Nirvana ... no cross ... I'll try to get a better photo of the one remaining before I chop it next week ... :smokebuds:
