New Grower Blue Mystic

Gave this NL a liter of plain water today in anticipation of cutting her next week ... been cleansing about 10 days now ... height w/ pot is 31" / soil to top 24" ... I have no idea how it will yield ... looked kind of peaked today w/ all the yellow leaves and the buds are fluffy ... I suspect it will be an interesting high ... I'll sample in a couple weeks but I won't start smoking it for about 3 months cause I prefer a longer cure ... Again ... sorry for the sideways photo ...


eta. The plate in post #78 contains 21 grams dry (62%) ... just a little short of a properly filled 1/2 gal jar ...

Harvest was lighter than anticipated (2.5 jars total). The Blue Mystic produced 21 grams of excellent smoke. Fluffy buds but frosty. The Northern Lights produced less than expected. The buds were nice looking buds w/ one plant showing Sativa characteristics and the other Indica. The Blue Mystic is a pleasure to Vape the Northern Lights not so much. Not much taste to the NL, not much vapor in the NL and I'm not impressed w/ the high ... The NLs were healthy throughout the grow ... Helping a friend start an outdoor grow in Upstate NY for the month of May ... we're using bagseed. We'll germinate 4-5 of them indoors in some 1 gal root pouches using a Blackstar 180w HO Veg & Clone. Hope to get a photo of them in the ground before I leave at the end of May.

Good job, but why this NL is not so good? hmm which was the breader ? Mines was of Female Seeds and honstly it was my first auto which was so stinky and full of resin, the high was strong and long lasting, with a perfevt NL taste. Wish you luck with the outdoor season and big plants. All good bro, i am preparing Auto Haze (female seeds) and Blue Mystic (nirvana seeds) for outdoor this year :booya:

The Northern Light was from Nirvana ... the two were both happy and healthy although they did not look related ... took about 4 weeks to show sex but they looked frosty before I cut them ... the cure was textbook on the NLs yet they don't taste or smell particularly good and it's been one month now that they've been cut. I may be wrong but one way I judge quality is how much vapor they produce and a bowl of the Blue Mystic will give 10-15 thick hits of vapor and the NL about 4-6 ... I vaped two bowls (Vapir NO2) of Blue Mystic as soon as I got into town here Monday. I'm in a small town that I grew up in 50 yrs ago. I visited the park, main street etc w/ 2 vaped bowls in me and I experienced paranoia worse than I can recall in years and I was so high I felt like I was going too fall out of my truck ... so the BM has a great high ... wish I had brought some NL so I could see how it affects the locals ... :buds:

Chester you grew out some outstanding ladies that's for sure! I'd love to get a taste of that blue mystic. I was curious to ask you how big your space was you were growing the three in, and was that 180 HO the only light you were using for that space? but furthermore the buds loook amazingness! :drool:

Thanks for the kind words eleventysix ... there must be a slight mix up ... the plants in this thread were grown under 2 Advanced LEDs; a DS100 and an Extreme Flower 120 ... I am growing at another location w/ the Blackstar180 ... that area is 4 sq' (2'x2') ... it's a little small for the space but it still does a pretty good job ... 2x2' should have the Blackstar240 for best results ... the location that this thread is about is 3'x2' or about 6 sq' ... the 220 watts I'm using now is OK but I really want to bump it up to 320 watts using 2 Pro-grow 180s from Hydroponics Hut ...

My normal space (2x3' w/ 220 watts of LED) works best w/ 2 plants ... I've done 6 in the space but 2 works much better and I think the yield is very comparable ... if I get more light then I might add a plant or two ...
