So today they got flushed with 2 gal each of tap water that sat out for 48 hours. They are both in 3 gal smart pots with OF perlite mix so I figured 2 gal each would be good. I let them sit in the run for maybe 15 minutes after done pouring and they were still very soaked. The 4 cola plant definitely has a more ruderalis look and the leaves hide its buds as you can see in the last few pics below. But the other has more fat buds and more prominent. I also took some more macro shots. I bought a little pocket scope and this thing is dope! It sits flush I'm my phone lined up with the camera and I'm able to hold it on handed and it even has a little LED too. Most definitely worth the $7 with free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime.
Here's some new pics from today. They are started to get some purple in the sugar leafs and the tip on one bud but couldn't get a pic. Packed on crystals hard! You can definitely tell the single main cola plant is leading in maturity so that is the one I will be chopping down within the next few days. This is my first time growing so I'm trying to make sure I pull her before it too late but on the other side she's still swelling and I don't wanna miss out on yeild. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I'm gonna have to start cropping these photos before I post then so they stop going sideways. I said it last time I posted but what stoner doesn't forget things lmfao
New pics from today day 67 from sprout. We have the first plant which is doing wonderful. She has bulked up a little and is showing some beautiful color. She will be coming down on Monday when I return from a trip. She is just showing a few amber trichs here and there I didn't want to hold her back so I watered her and will return Monday. Plant 3 on the other hand is way behind by atleast another week. I didn't bother getting pics of its trichs because trying to get the one I have were hard enough lol. I just hold a jewellers loupe flush again my phone and then zoom in more on my phone and attempt to focus for some pics. But here's both pics of my plants and can't wait to dry/cure but I'm a little worried about what to do with drying. I don't have a place to dry that it humid controlled so I'm thinking of putting some strings in a cardboard box and put it on top(outside) of my tent. I'll be doing more reading so we will see what I end up doing come monday.
So I chopped this girl down yesterday and trimmed the buds and strung most on string in a shoebox. Just experementing I put some nugs in a brown paper bag with a vent hole. I was paranoid and didn't want then to touch so I taped the stems so they all are together and no buds touch. I was dumb and never got gloves so trimming got my hands super sticky so I have absolutely no pics of anything after these pics. These were taken literally 2 seconds before I cut the plant down. I'm letting the other plant go atleast another week maybe more so I will learn from my mistakes and hopefully next time around will be better. I will post more pics in a few days when I check on them.
Today's update:
So I hung most of the nugs up on a string in a shoe box and I also put a few in a brown paper bag to experiment a little and see how both turn out. They've been drying for 4 days as of tonight and are feeling pretty dry to me. I'm waiting until tomorrow mainly to jar them because I've been busy and haven't gotten jars so I'm going out tomorrow morning and putting them away with boveda 62 pack for atleast 2 weeks. Also almost all of the other plant's leaves have turned yellow and the buds are still looking premature so I plucked most of the leaves and will see how the buds look sunday. Sorry but the pics of the drying plants are blurry because the would not stop swinging lol
The smell and the size were the two upsets I encountered. They didn't really have any smell when harvested only if you brushed against a bud and smelt your hand. Now they just have that hay smell from drying out so I'll let you know what it smells like after it cures a little bit. I'm going to get the jars now.
