I wish I knew where to start... I travel a lot and am frequently in areas that hold the some of the landraces that Bodhi talked about, but I have no idea how I'd even start that conversation

I will say that I had a brick of thai weed a couple years back that looked like garbage... Smoked it with the bartender (in thailand), didn't feel anything for a few minutes, and then BAM felt like I got hit by a strange combo of adderall and mushrooms. Happened almost everytime we smoked that stuff too.
