Hello everyone. I am a new grower and I have 2 Blue mystics at 33 days and 1 short rider at 25 days. Here is the setup:

Soil: roots organic soil with dolomite lime added pre planting
Nutes: roots organic buddha grow, roots organic extreme serene and blackstrap molasses
Feeding: 3/4 tsp buddha grow, 3/4 tsp extreme serene, 1tsp molasses per gallon.
soil PH - yesterday was 7.5
lights: 250W of cfl 6400K

Last week I fed them twice in one week not thinking... I had been watering once a week but they dried out in 3 days, so I just fed them again. I also added more dirt at the top and covered with perlite to make sure i didn't get any fungus gnats with the new soil i added.

Today i noticed a lot of yellowing in a few lower leaves on one plant. I watered tonight with plain water only. Two plants still look great. All have the same feeding soil etc. Here are some pictures of the affected leaves.

I sincerely appreciate any help with diagnosis of the issue.

What are the NPK of the Buddha Grow and Extreme Serene ? I think she's hungry ... Potential need for a pinch of Epsom salts for magnesium or cal mag ... My feed chart shows up to 3 tsp of Grow at this point in Veg along w/ a tsp of Extreme Serene ... once a leaf yellows it won't turn green again ... it's good to catch a deficiency early and I think you have ... I'd like to hear some opinions from others ...

Thanks Chester, that could be...I've been feeding about 1/3 of recommended dosage of all nutes.
Buddha Grow 2-0.25-1.5
Extreme serene 0-2-2

I'm also unsure about ph with an organic grow. The only test I have is the water tester. I have a cheap soil meter, but have heard not to trust it.

If I just watered last night with clear water, when is the next time I could feed them? If I feed them now, won't i be over watering? thanks for the input.

Depends on how much you watered them last time ... That's one reason why I like loose airy soil that drains well (you should be fine) ... I'd mix up enough feed to give them 1/2 the usual water at nearly full strength ... if 1/2 the normal water seems like too much then scale back a little ... kind of have to play it by ear ... Hopefully it's not a ph problem ...

My personal opinion is that it is PH; I use a mix of my own organic soil suplemented with a couple of biobizz products. In the past I have had real problems when my soil PH wasnt within the 6-7 range. You said your soil was 7.5, which is just outside of the range that nitrogen is absorbed - yellowing could be nitrogen deficiency thru PH imbalance.

The only chemical I use on my grow is PH up and down; If this was me, on my next feed I would probably ensure the water is PH'd down to around 5.5, this should bring your soil down to around 6.5 (6.3 is the ideal but you never achieve it); then over time just keep measuring the soil and adjusting the PH to meet in the middle.

I also find epsom salts once every couple of weeks helps as a general tonic - I also do the molasses only once every couple of weeks too.

good luck m8, keep us updated.

My ph tester is fubar. It it's measuring everything at 7.5. I have drop test solution but all I know is my water is 7.0. Couldn't test feed or runoff it was too dark. I've ordered a new pen will be here on Monday. I have a huge feeding yesterday without molasses. Only one plant shoes any yellowing still. All on lower leaves. So on Monday I will do a real ph test with a calibrated meter.

I'm really happy with my Oakton Ecotestr Ph2...and it wasn't expensive at all (comparatively)...holds calibration well.

I picked that one Trap...I'd say great minds think alike but hate to insult you! Lol.

I use this pen http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-...Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item3cdede3cfd - works really well hardly ever goes out of calibration.

Also to check my soil I use http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-in1-Pla...?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Other&hash=item20bcc46647 it wont give you a wholly accurate reading, but it does give you a general idea of what is going on inside the soil. Just scrub it with a scourer before each use or it wont work.
