Bottom Wicking Organics

Hey thanks for stopping by! Yeah this is a very similar style to SIPs, both are a bottom watering style. The major difference I see is that SIPs usually use plastic pots to keep the water in. I'm going to have fabric pots in a tray full of water and stones. Hmm are you using a DIY SIP system? I think I am going to hand water them first until their root zones are well established, how did you water them at the start?
Yes, I am using two buckets with stone's as my wick? I hand water for 2 weeks then begin watering from Res. Trying to find the right mix for the wick cup,
I had pots on stones as well, and worked, just I couldn't control the algae growing on them.
What I notice is, in the two bucket sip the roots grow down into the cup, but, medium stays dry. When I used your method, sitting pots on stone's roots grow into stone's and keep medium moist, but trying to achieve this in a closed system is my goal.
