Medium/grow method: soil

Feed: and supplements used: transplanting fertilizer 10-52-10

water source: dechlorinated (boiled and left to sit 24 hours)

Strain/age:
Auto bubblegum
Almost 4 weeks

light used:

4 x 23w cfl - just added a 300w led (125 actual)

Climate:

Apartment - 76 degrees

Obviously I’m new to this and have no clue. I read something about people crushing calcium tabs in soil so I tried dumping some potassium capsules in some soil and repotting this to a bigger pot. The leaves were yellowing and falling off from the start before I did all of this. The brown patches just started after repotting and adding nonsense to the soil today :/

Check that leaf with the black spots on the underside for bugs. But overall this looks like a pH lockout. That fertilizer mentioned is an unusual NPK balance too. Very high in P compared to NK for vegetative growth.

potassium capsules
?

Do you mean medical potassium? Potassium Chloride? I wouldn't use that for plants if that iss what you have. It inhibits germination, and can cause other issues, especially in young plants.

I would first test your soil pH, and make sure that's not the culprit. Then use a foliar spray to get nutes to the leaves. If the pH is stable, than she needs nitrogen. The canoe shaped leaves with the crocodile teeth margins suggest lack of airflow or the light may be a bit close.

Potassium chloride. That’s exactly what I did. It seemed like a good idea at the time...lol. Thanks for the info [emoji4]

I checked my ph although I’m not sure if this 3 in 1 meter is accurate. It’s not digital but I think I shows just above 6. The led may be too close. It’s 12 inches away. Cfls are about 4 inches away.

Just tried checking with a paper strip and it sears to be between 5 and 6

I would advise you to get a good ph meter because those strips and cheap meters are not very accurate.5 and 6 is to low,it should be closer to 6.5.A good ph meter is very important for growing good weed other wise you will continue to have problems.

Any recommendations?

Some great advice around here. Let me summarize in order of importance for you.

1. Get a proper pH meter (My preference is Apera Instruments)
2. Get some dolomite lime or pH up, for pH'ng your soil
3. Too much P, get a balanced fertilizer. (I prefer Down to Earth brand for organic, and Advanced Nutrients for normal)
4. Get some General Hydroponics CaMg+ additive (still the best, but Monsanto owns it)
5. no more potassium tabs!
6. raise the LED to 20 inches for vegative growth

From looking at your soil, I would do some work on that for the next round too. Add some perlite for starters.

These are all easy mistakes to make, we all did them. Weed is finicky, and not the easiest plant to grow well. pH is the king of all things to get right though. Make sure that if nothing else, you get a good meter with temperature compensation. For growing in soil it helps to have a soil probe, like the Accurate 8 meter, it is more accurate in soil pots than a digital meter doing pour through tests.
