So, I'm looking to get back into smoking in a serious way once my seeds come in and my box gets rolling.
Of course, my thoughts now turn to my health; I know (or at least believe the articles I've read) that say marijuana smoke isn't as harmful or carcinogenic as tobacco. However, I'd still like to keep my smoking as clean and easy on my lungs as possible. I've accepted, after my most recent encounter with the law, that joints are the only way to smoke on the go, since you can't swallow glass. I don't like the harshness from the paper, though, so my preference up until now has been glass pipes and water pipes (both bubblers and bongs).
So, my question is, is there any research or study into whether the water filtering from using them makes the smoke safer or healthier than a pipe or papers? I prefer them because it's a smoother hit, but I just wonder if that's all it does is makes the smoke less harsh.
I'd consider vaping, but I have three issues that stand in the way. First, I need stealth at home, and tabletop vaporizers, while highly recommended from everyone I talk to, seem to be far too bulky to stash. Second, of course, is cost; I can't afford to drop several hundred dollars on smoking equipment (while a decent bubbler or bong can be had in my neighborhood for under $100). Third, well, I just plain like smoking. Not just getting high, but the act of smoking itself. I like loading the bowl, I like drawing it in, holding it in, the way it tastes...I love the smoking itself as much as the high. Any thoughts or suggestions out there? Anyone else know what I mean?
