New Grower Bubblicious, Blueberry, White Widow, and Cheese!

plants are looking great ezyahs.

those 5qrts buckets are sick!

keep us posted.

Thanks guys!

So, there is this boy, and he has offered me a light.

...its a 1000 watt HPS...

Now the question is, would 1000 watt's be overkill for 6 plants? Also, I'm guessing you wouldn't be able to put it too close to the plants due to heat, but my babies only stopped stretching once I lowered my lights. Should I take him up on his offer?

can you test the light first,in your actual grow ?

You can never have too much light. 1000 is definately not overkill for six. If the price is right, go for it.

You can actually have too much light, It's called light bleaching :D However, that relates to light intensity and distance from source, not "too much" Six plants under a 1000 is awesome. I'd love to run a grow like that if I had the space for it.

it would be wonderful to be able to give 6 plants 1000watts of HPS....heat may be a problem ,and you may have to spring a wad of cash on a fresh bulb...and your power bill will get a little more of your spendable cash...but...you will be richly rewarded for providing sooo well for your girls.
o yea...I can see those buds glistening already!

Well then, I'll be picking up the light tomorrow! Guess I'll be cooking him one hell of a "Thank You!" dinner.

Now, onto the next thing. Nutrients...I know I should have been thinking about this all along but jeeze, theres only so much one mind can wrap itself around! Now, when it comes to this, I'd like to keep things as simple as possible. Honestly, it really is a simplicity issue more than an expense issue so whatever I have to buy, I will. After reading up on it, fish mix seems to be a good option, at least to start with...opinions? Please remember that this is my first grow, my absolute starting point.

Thanks in advance!

The whole Biobizz line of nutrients seems to be pretty popular around here.

its the simple K.I.S.S. method + biobizz + agito feeding schedule (biobizz) = beautiful ladies!

----

other options:

1) an ph perfect (perfect with RO water + hydro / soil less / soil.)

the nutrients somehow just magically adjust itself to the right PH! (havent tried em myself)

2) FF TRIO BASE (this is the one im currently using as a first timer)

3) theres plenty of nutrients out there -- im sure someone will be able to help you out with whichever you choose.

goodluck!
