New Grower Bud density

Bud density is somewhat strain related but I believe the main factor to having dense buds is having enough light and the correct spectrum of red during flowering.

My buds are twice as dense using LED as apposed to CFL. And that is 180w of LED over 300 watts of CFL.
Light definitley has something to do with it.

I've also always struggled with bud density. Would like to grow tighter nugs, so any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

NFT will give you fat nugs & quickly if you have it dialed right. Oxygen rich nutrients on demand is what the ladies want :wiz:

1. Genetic
2.Light intensity
3. Grow conditions. Lower Humidity in flower, 72-77F is optimal temps for denser buds.
4. Grower skill when it comes to feeding and making sure each bud gets as much light as possoble

Deff everything Magic said. i notice in the cooler months that my buds tend to be much tighter. The heat makes them airy ive seen. Also light intensity and color help

Hmmm maybe my temps are too high... I usually run CO2 so my temps are higher than normal... still though for CO2 I would expect denser buds.

Do all strains grow to solid buds I've got a auto skull Ryder the tri are Millie as and amber but she still a bit fluffy if that's the right word my auto assassin came out with solid nugs just a big difference in buds grown at same time

Look at Blueberry, its soft fluffy. Solid nugs are created when you keep the lights close to the seedling, and have good environments and have decent genetics...

I've found that the further the lights are from the plants, the more they stretch and when they push out nodes - they become spaced out.

It could also be you might have AA, but the phenotypes differ slightly maybe because the breeder gave you seeds from differing mothers? IDK if im making sense i shouldn't be typing:Sharing One:

Good info mate, pretty much how I've found it. My #1 would be environment
