Indoor Buddha Seeds Purple Kush Grow Journal

hey bro -- just went over your thread.

you are definitely having some lockouts and i suspect the foxfarm soil!

would love to know what your current ph is goin in with feeding.
also a ph out would be good to know as well.

i got another request for you about the soil -- you might want to do a slurry test.

youre probably thinking what is a slurry test?
to answer (straight from fox farm)

Helpful Hint: testing for pH in soil is very different than when you test in water. Testing the runoff from a container is not always accurate as the water just drains out nutrients. If you want to use your current pH instrument instead of one calibrated for soil, you must test your pH with a slurry test. Take ½ cup of soil and mix with 1 cup of water. Let it sit for 30 minutes and test away. We recommend that everyone test their pH as it is a top cause for many plant problems, but spend the extra money on a better meter and keep the tip clean.

this will determine the ph of your soil.

brother smithee first name allen (SP?) -- showed me the website when my plants were having troubles and lockouts.

by doing the slurry test (check my 1st pc grow run) -- i was able to determine that my soil was the problem with the ph of 5.0-5.5 (ORANGE --- using the drop kits)

My last watering I think my ph was too low so last night when I fed nutes I used the dropper test and got it to what I think is a lil over 6.5 since last time I think it was too low.

I will do the slurry test here ad midnight when the lights come on...

Also just to add i filled my pots 3/4 with Ocean Forest and 1/4 Light Warrior, after about 2 weeks I put another layer of soil on top if that..

Still debating on feeding my other pk or giving it regular water but I think its hungry because its only got one feeding of veg and its in full budding now :smokebuds:

You want to be feeding grow till about the 6th week of flowering, I feed mine up until the flush at the end, only a weak does though.

Hey fweed, something simiar happened in my last grow to this problem you got, would love to see a solution to this, my plant still grew but yielded me a quarter oz. your using FF soil if i recall, so am i, i recenty herd that the soil is currentlly contaminatex by a gnat or aphid, sure enough a few days after hearing this the little bastards ar overunning my place. Oh also when did your Pk start showing pistills, i got some poking out at just day 13, but my plant is only 3 inch tall and 4 in wide

DAY 43 purple kush update.

day 43 vertical growth has stopped at i fed bloom nutes about 2 days ago for the first time.

in my opinion the pk on the left is doing better than the one on the right heres some pics..

sorry if its hard to see the bottom yellowing leaves from the angle i took but hopefully you guys can tell what exactly is going on so i can fix..i still got over a month so hopefully i can make things better not worse :toke:

i know autos can take a few problems and be ok at the end so im not discouraged, just encouraged to get them what they need :D

they are looking good fweedom!

what strength did you feed the bloom nutes?
tigerbloom + bigbloom i assume?

were you able to do the slurry test? -- would love to know your results from them.

also the ph going in is perfect! -- did you manage to test the run off as well?

Thanks man :smokebuds:

I fed tiger bloom nutes at 1/4 strength, I currently don't have any big bloom..but plan on getting some soon.

I did test runoff after I watered and it was kinda orange but someone said it probably wasn't accurate since i tested right after watering with nutes or something ill have to go back and see exactly but yea it was in the low end :bong:

at orange level -- you are looking at around 5.0-5.5 ph level in the soil which will cause you major problems.

if you can -- i would run the slurry test with some soil you have (same batch) and determine the level.

if its still orange -- you will have to add some dolomite lime to buffer the soil level to around 7.

if you are feeding at 6.5 and the run off is low due to soil -- your plants are locking out nutrients and causing problems.

Ill go ahead and do that..half a cup of soil right?

And yea it wasn't really orange but it looked a little low..I guess only way to check is to do the slurry test :bong:

And yea man ill probably water with distilled water next watering to raise my ph if its low..do I need to add the lime to buffer it or can I just use water that's ph'd a little higher to even it out?
