Harvest & Curing Burping jars

Hey guys I'm drying my HBBS harvest atm. I'm planning on burping my jars for a week then sealing them up and burp once a week after that. I'll be using bovedas once I get around 62 mark then burp for 10 mins. I want to know how long should I burp them for when they're around 65-70%

Also how long should I wait to get a decent reading off the hygrometer? using a caliber iii

I've never used a hygrometer to cure this is why I'm asking.

When your bud is very near the goal of 60% w/ the Hygrometer sealed up w/ the bud it can take 12-24 hrs to get an accurate reading ... I use 60 gm 62% Bovedas in 1/2 gal jars ...I remove my lids and fan the open jars w/ a newspaper for a couple minutes, a couple times a day for the first week or two ... then it drops off to every couple months .... As long as your buds are evenly dried to a rh of approx. 60% then burping the jars is to allow gases to escape not remove moisture ... If the area rh is around 60% it's OK to leave the jars open longer than if your rh is 30% so it's good to know the rh both in and out of the jars ... my room's rh is generally 55% .... I've been known to leave the jars open for hours w/ no harm done ... good luck w/ your harvest ...

Okay that's cool. Thanks for the reply man. That's the plan of action then. If my HR reads over 65 how long shall I leave my lids off 6 hours? Also Mt HR in the room will be around 55-60%

I often jar a couple times for 4-6 hrs to allow the moisture that is deep inside the bud to work it's way to the outside ... My goal is all bud in the lower 60's for rh taking 7-10 days ... then I begin the burping ... a lot of homes are very dry at this time of year due to heat ...
