There'll be a cob pro along soon, but I can add my 2 cents...seems cobs are being used to identify a wide range of designs...changing over from hps years ago to the blurples and early "cobs", (cheap type) saw enough of a small overall improvement of my perpetual grows so i kept upgrading. Couple years ago, I added a 55w autocob and a 75w rapidled cob and they've kinda blown my shit up. Some older growers don't give a shit about "equivalent", it's more about true wattage ....along with a 150w qb, the cobs at 46W sq ft, are giving me the best grows in 15 years. Seldom had better even under 1000w hps!
I'm usually flowering 3 plants at a time, with each cob isolating one at a time...so yes, I good cob will do 1 plant very well. That kinda makes all other parameters important.
