Hi all what's the crack with cobs
Iv seen a very cheap cob says it's equivalent of 150w
What could one grow under it just 1 plant I assume
Cheers

There'll be a cob pro along soon, but I can add my 2 cents...seems cobs are being used to identify a wide range of designs...changing over from hps years ago to the blurples and early "cobs", (cheap type) saw enough of a small overall improvement of my perpetual grows so i kept upgrading. Couple years ago, I added a 55w autocob and a 75w rapidled cob and they've kinda blown my shit up. Some older growers don't give a shit about "equivalent", it's more about true wattage ....along with a 150w qb, the cobs at 46W sq ft, are giving me the best grows in 15 years. Seldom had better even under 1000w hps!
I'm usually flowering 3 plants at a time, with each cob isolating one at a time...so yes, I good cob will do 1 plant very well. That kinda makes all other parameters important.

I’m using the Migro 100+, it grows a big healthy girl.

COB chip on board.
Quality cobs rock. Cheap cobs do not.

Lights that say their "just like" something are lights to stay away from.
I run 450w of DIY COB lighting, and it covers my 4x4. Provided the light is a quality light, I would assume it might cover 2x2 in flower.

Heart of the grow is your light. Get the best you can, even if it means adding on later.
Best cobs ready to run would be from cobshop.
Next would be kits from timber with cree or citizen chips. I wouldn't run an actively cooled cob system, and that seems to cover most of the rest.

Any cob you look at, go on YT and find someone who is growing under it. And make sure you see a run all the way to the end, with dried results shown... many of the cheap lights will do great in veg, but are way underpowered for flower. People will say how much they rock, and then stop showing the progress due to obvious reasons.

Phlizon 2000 watt cob fill spectrum grow light best budget light on the market. Perfect for a 4x4 tent or 3x3 tent. This light has the most umols compared to all the other leds. Kicks some higher priced led lights asses on coverage and umols. I'm running the little bit cheaper version like the phlizon but its made by "wills" there 2000 watt same style version light. Girls are only 2 weeks and 3 days old and growing nuts under this light. I was gonna get some cobs from cobshop.net til I discovered these dope ass lights. You'll yield allot more and cheaper than cobshop if your on a budget and literally amazing lights!

You can see the small phlizon doing its thing in my 2.5*2.5ft grow tent. It did 70g from 2 auto Gorilla girls. I have 6 plants staggered by 3 weeks (3+3). And they're doing nicely.
