Can lights be too close to plants if temperature is fine? Im using 600 hps and have them real close to plants since its aircooled and temps remain around 79. Will I loose the stretch or do I even want my plants to stretch? Also can I start my plants off on hps or is it better to use metal halide in the beginning? Thanks for the help guys

Hey NickT, rule of thumb is, if you can leave your hand under the light, and it not get hot, you are fine, BUT, if you want to stretch em a bit, higher would help for that.:thumbs:
