Can someone please tell me what these are?

Hi all, I've spotted something strange on my plant. About two thirds up on either side of the stem, like a bulb with a long tail like thing hanging down. What are they?

:smoking:--- presex calyxes (bracts to some),.... see the pistils poking out? The long skinny structure is a stipule I believe,... pushed down by the swelling calyx...
