I hopped on the Canna site and got a feeding schedule, but, I still have one question. Is the schedule a daily feeding or do I feed only as the plants need water?

Depends on your medium, environment, and plants but only as water is needed. If you feed every day, you'll likely overwater. If your medium is completely drying out in a day, you may have environment issues or a very thirsty girl.
