Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome

I am starting this thread to discuss my journey as a cannabis enthusiast and breeder living with CHS.

I have been getting ill off and on now for almost 10 years. I have spent a ton of money going to doctors and ER visits while I felt like I was dieing. I have told several doctors they were dumb AF. After being diagnosed with CHS. I flat out refused to believe that what I was going through was caused by cannabis.

This is real and I feel I know more about this than the doctors after living with it for almost a decade.

My symptoms have included
1- vomiting for up to 2 days straight not being able to hold down any water.
2- cold sweats that soak through my clothes and bedding.
3- dizziness and confusion
4- weird fainting and blood pressure
5- heart rate slowing all the way down to 13 BPM.
6- completely drained of all energy.
7- weird feelings in my brain delusion
8- not being able to sleep
9- joint pain

I have been a heavy user of cannabis since the age of 12. I can exactly recall when this started. About 11 years ago I was on probation for the courts for a violent offense and was forced to quit smoking for a year while being drug tested for the courts. As soon as I was off probation I went back to smoking and the symptoms started.
I grow a lot of outdoor flower every year and have had the ability to smoke a ridiculous amount of cannabis non stop. This also added to my issues. Smoking lots of concentrates and up to 14 grams per day over the years.

This all came on very slowly over the years. Starting with maybe 2 or 3 times the first year falling ill only in the mornings not directly after consuming cannabis. It felt like a hot poker piercing my stomach causing extreme gut wrenching nots in my stomach causing me to puke non stop.
The only thing that made me comfortable was soaking in super hot bath water.
This over the next few years became more and more frequent.
Over the last 2 years I really started to wonder if possibly I was wrong about this CHS. I started to talk with my personal doctor about this. They honestly dont know anything about this disease. He told me that with CHS you will instantly get sick after consuming cannabis and assured me that I dont have it. Im now certain he was wrong.

I was pretty much sick for the entire year of 2025 trying to figure out how i can deal with this CHS and remain a stoner.

I have now backed down my intake of cannabis almost to non existent so I can feel healthy again.

I can now take a hit or 2 off a bowl on Fridays and still feel OK.

This journey has been crazy and very tough to take in and admit that something i love so much and has been a part of my life for over 30 years could possibly do this to me.

From what I have experienced and felt I truly feel this issue is in my brain. Its difficult to describe the sensations that I have felt in my brain while dealing with the CHS sickness.

I now can't handle any concentrates, and I can only smoke limited amounts without feeling some sort of effects from the CHS. Usually now I feel a headache after smoking too much, and some weird stomach turning related to the headache.

I can't say definitively that this was brought on by the availability to over indulge in highly concentrated THC but it didn't help.
Always remember too much of anything is bad.
Moderation is good.

It has usually taken 24 to 48 hrs without consuming cannabis for the symptoms to totally disappear.
