Grow Room Carbon filter facing directly up instead of out the side of PC case?

none.its just for stealth reasons it goes out the back.if you want it out the top and on show you can do it that way to.

Ahh sweet, there is actually a hole for a fan there already as the case had one going out the top that has a built in dust filter on a raised part of the case on top, I think this will be more stealth for me so bonus. Just didn;t want to effect air flow or the effectiveness of the filter

Heat wise it actually better to have it blowing out the top, but as @archie gemmill said pretty much just for stealth
Ok great! One problem I have encountered is that my LED strips and the carbon filter take up the whole of the top side of the case with barely any wriggle room, I may have to have the filter sticking out the top of the case to that it sits flush with the top on the inside rather than have it poking into the grow space...
Would let me center the LED strips more as without doing this I lose a PC fans worth of space at the top so that side of it will not directly be under the LED itself... Decisions decisions!
I can probably get a few pictures later tonight if you wouldn;t mind taking a look and giving your opinion?
its the issue with most small spaces and a top vented exhaust, but sure post some up and we can see if anyone including myself has any suggestions/ideas

I can think of one reason - carbon compaction in a vertical orientation leads to less effective filtering over time. I just created this thread which explains my problem with vertical filters (I simply cant put it anywhere else in the space I have) but over time and a couple of stinky plants ... hmmm
