Old Reviews Carbon filter fan kits

Hello all, I have the VentTech 4" fan and carbon filter. Initially I had the filter outside of the tent and could still smell the plants. I moved it inside the tent and still had issues (even with a ozonator in the same room as the tent.) I added this filter LEDwholesalers 4" Hydroponic Carbon Air Filter 200CFM Air Scrubber Oder Control, GYO2305 and now have the odor controlled. As far as the sound is concerned I run the Ventech fan in the top 1/3rd of the range on my variable speed fan control. It's loud. I have been wondering if the 6" version would allow you to run the device at a lower speed, and subsequently at a lower noise level?

Jackmc hit on a point of why I went with the 6" overkill, it can be turned down more, thus quieter, and still provide good flow compared to a 4". Now I'm talking about the big inline style fan, not the small $25-30 "duct booster" type fan. Although I do have one of those on an intake vent. At half speed on the dial controller, it's halfway quiet considering how much air it's still moving.

I got a 6 inch ventech fan filter combo and after running it for 2 hours the fan started smoking I took it all down and the fan apparently threw a barring cause I couldn't turn the prop by hand I ended up calling grow wurks and they directed me to a hurricane fan and it's been running smooth for a months now actually a fuzz more well worth the $85 I think it was

as for the filter well its not working can't even filter the fish emulsion I fed my plants and my whole basement smelt like well fish lol so now the hunt is desperately on for a new filter that works because my girls threw pre flowers last night :/ was thinking about going with a phresh filter
