I don't think a t8 will fit where a t5 goes. Much smaller diameter. Plus the t5 is a lot higher output so don't know if 30w is enough to push a 54 w high output t5 grow light! With the problems your having wih heat. U need led lights. No heat!

Good point, i have been looking into LED but its so confusing, you see lights from £15 to £50 to £500 
I see people having amazing results from them and would really like to get one but which one is another matter. In an Ideal world i only wanted to spend roughly another £30 on lighting although some of the ufo style 90w leds for £50 have caught my eye

What's the dimensions of the bottom of your cab?
hey carbon, nice fuckin cabinet man. I'm on my first grow myself and just finished convincing my folks too. Holy shit, are you me? ...If that's not enough, I've been thinking about airpots for a while now and you've just smashed the only thing holding me back out of the park. Mad idea to compensate for the height without cutting them, it's a damn shame I'm using a tent.
Going back to LED lights I'm certainly no expert but what I am is growing with a GroProw 180 as we speak and if my hundreds of hours perusing the internet taught me anything, it's important to look at the wattage of the actual LED diode and the actual power draw of the light. Make sure you have a squiz at the PAR too. And of course the general rules of buying off the internet - check out the seller, find grow journals using the light and see if there are any reviews for it. Good luck brotha

The air pot height had me worried too for a while but after my little brain wave wasn't such a problem in the end although id trade it out for a tent any day

That said you have lost me a little from there lol, would say a 75w not draw 75 watts of power to run? and what exactly is the PAR? i'm assuming its some form of measurement however rite now its just a number to me

Little update: Seed's have been in soil for 48 hours now and still no sign of them popping up. Not panicking just yet after reading 2-3 days is quite normal and i think i may have plants them a little deeper than i should have although i think that's just me questioning myself the max can only be an inch deep.
Managed to get the humidity up a little sitting around 30-40 rite now but that could change with the weather given my intake.
Temp wise inside my domes i'm getting 81-82 with the lights like this which i think is ok but id like some confirmation on that if someone could, i could drop the temps down to about 76-78 by raising the lights.
I've moved my lights down for now and hung them upright after reading you get slightly better light and slightly better cooling from them.
Also grabbed myself a little something today that's just gonna have to be divided up some kush thrown in there

Why dont you get a 250w HID grow light?
I noticed that you cut holes in the bottom of your cab so you gain more height in your ghetto box, you should put the box on longer legs and make the top of the pots flush with the bottom of the cab, that way you have the whole inside of the cab for more grow space and possibly a powerfuller light. 250w might be overkill with the temps even in a cool tube and a good ruk extractor fan. But I think a 150w HPS may be good enough in a cool tube or even a 300w 9U dual spec cfl. My bro uses two of them 300w dual specs in a cab a bit bigger than yours and there sweet plants man. Im still in love with your setup

Hey herb, I can actually change the height of the cab at any time so if they go into monster mode i can just raise it up as you say.
light wise i think i'm going to be building THIS but instead of perspex using heavy duty greenhouse plastic like you get on the cheap pop up ones.
I think given its 140mm fan that moves 93cfm which isn't restricted and with intakes running upto my window seal where its always cold i could maybe run upto 6 bulbs in there!
For my seeds the Cream Mandarin was placed to soak in a cup of tap water (mine is around 7.5ph) that had been left out over night, and was in there for about 12-15 hours not until it sunk but until it became neutrally buoyant. When it got to that stage i placed it into wet paper towel and popped it into a large 8th bag, this then went into the airing cupboard at around 75-80 then over the next 24 hours or so i blew into the bag and trapped the air inside them roughly once every 3 hours while i wasn't sleeping.
The Jack-47 seed was damaged on arrival and the outer shell was open so i didn't bother to soak that one, the jack waited till the cream mandarin had finished soaking and went through the exact same bag/paper towel process as the cream.
While they where in the bags i added water once but only about 5-8 drips around the edges of the paper towel not directly onto the seed, the water had been left under my lights for 24 hours so was around the same temp as the seeds were being germinated at.
Now i'm really happy because both have shown them selves and the cream is almost standing already!
Ive taken my door off and replaced it with a wet towel which is now giving me temps rite now of 76f in the domes and 72f inside the cab.
RH has now gone up to 56% and will be easy to maintain until around Wednesday when i can get my new fan and filter so i can use my now extraction fan for the cool tube/box thing.
This is the fan/filter i'm looking at ordering Fan & Filter combo.
If anyone has one of these could you please let me know how it is :thumbs:
EDIT: Almost forgot i cant run the new big pot at the back as pictured because it covers my intake... maybe a pot in each corner
