Lighting cfl hanging question

ive just ordered a 125w dual band cfl and was wondering as i only have a kind a home made reflector if i could fasten up the bulb horizontaly with a zip clip around the fitment and one round one of the tudes??????
or would it be too hot for that????? they are very heavy duty zip ties.
any help would be great

Just curious....did you know that a cfl of that size requires a larger socket? A mogul e39 to be exact.
I would mount the socket to a board and the hang the board to suppoert all the weight. Cfl bulbs have mercury in them...a broken bulb will ruin your crop.

No. do not use zip ties around the glass as it does get hot and could melt them.What kind of socket is that light going into,reg or mogul?

it comes with a 4metre cable with lamp fitting on one end and a three pin plug on the other....is that right????
