Lighting cfls or 600w hps cooltube

i feel your vibe for leds i would love to but they are a little out of the price range for the moment and for the t5 i found one that would fit my tent with 4 x 55w neons im thinking i need to double this at least looking at muddys calculations 240w is not too far from 220w
so id probably need two and that in a 1m x 1m tent not possible either ill change my tent so its around 1.20m long which is what the t5 8 is i can find locally or ill stick to the cooltube setup thanks for the info

after all that ive come to this conclusion i can pick up a grow northern ms0004 for just a little more than my cooltube setup or the t 5, 8 with additions, so hey what the heck might as well go led its the equivalent of a 400w mh/hps not the most powerful but the equivalent of 600w mh/hps is much more expensive what do you guys think would i be doing the right thing they are recommended for 0.80 x0.80 and 1m x 1m tents and one thing id really like to know is what happens when they reach the end of their 50.000h lifespan because were all going to get there eventually are they good for the bin or is it possible to replace some of the composants thanks for your help guys greatly appreciated

50,000 hours is about 6 years constant.

yeah thanks for that i actually got in touch with grow northern and asked the same question this is what they said The unit will still work at the end of the LEDs life span it's just the chips themselves that will start to dim and they will carry on dimming for 10,000s more hours,all you will need to replace are the modules and we sell those for £15 each. hope this helps you all its answered my questions for sure and all the more reason to go led cant compare to the price of electricity while running hps 400w or 600w the research pays off take your time and choose wisely thanks to everyone who contributed love this place like a second home

I'm probably late on this one but I started growing with T-5's & CFL's--I had some really nice grows with them.
Then I switched to an Apollo 600w dimmable an I really am happy with the girls I've grown out using it. I still use CFL clamp lights for the bottoms.

hps wil kill cfl in quality and quantity but heat
cfl for heat small spaces and cuttings etc

personaly tho get an led pannel from grownorthern and u beat all
