Chopped off cola. Will it mend?

Will the top cola survive a human mutilation of this sort?

So today I feel like a moron :Stones slap: I've done it a half dozen times, but for some *beep* up reason today I decided that I just needed to bend (and not pinch) the top cola to do the supercropping technique and even out the canopy.

I really tried being surgical, but the thin epidermis simply did not hold and finally gave in. Top shoot completely severed off. In a half panic and quite a quick yet intense verbal session of self-depreciation, this is what I thought to do...

So the final thing is cling film wrapped around like you would put a cuttling in a propagator, to elevate RH to max. As I was wrapping, I may have dislocated the cola from the stem a little, but if so just a few milimeters

I pop in there every once in a while and spray a foliar feed of rhizotonic (2ml/l) algamic (2ml/l) and Liquid Silicon (2ml/L). right into the cling film top entrance

My reasoning is high moisture, root stim and stress reliever, cold pressed algae extract with vitamins and algae extracts with fulvic and humic acids, silicon providing the "grease" for all this to act faster, fast cell division, higher hidration and transportation

Never tried or seen anything like this done. What do you think, does she stand a chance for survival?

I have done the same thing before and simply duct taped it back together and it survived. Your looks like you put more thought into it. I think it will be ok. Maybe a little stunted.

Oh man, that is very reassuring!... I know that snap offs are quite easy to fix, but thats because it fits back in nicely like a puzzle piece, I'm not sure the cut area is well aligned in this one

On my first go around with LSTing my plants, my Think Different had too much water in her and I snapped one of her main branches like a twig.
A little duct tape and she healed right up and ended up doing very well.
I can't think of more forgiving plants, she'll be fine.

Never seen it done bro that was a clean snap.. Alltho when i snapped my AutoX it was hanging on a little and i just used some string to take the pressure of her whie she was recovering now check out the knuckle DSCN0542.jpg

What really bums me out is that I wasn't even stoned... maybe I should have smoked a big fat one before tending to them :cuss:

Dunno, I think that top is a gonner...

She may be wilted, but she hasn't gone yellow, if the leaves don't start perking up in a few days, maybe the cola is a goner.
It's a shame, I've seen so many cases of plants making recoveries after having stems severed and cracked.

I think maybe the stock needs to both be held together real well, and it needs to heal a bit before it will draw water well again.

My leaves went floppy for a couple of days and bounced back but you girl was a clean snap so its a tough 1 bro.. Just leave her be and see what happens either way is worth a shot Some fixing up karma sent :karma Cloud:

Man a clean snap is a bitch. I have wondered about something like a splice joint when something like this happens. Something like the pic below but only a single V.
