I've been growing in a small cabinet for stealth reasons, but am hoping to upgrade my growing area so that I can allow the plants to get bigger and not have to crouch down/poke around in a small space, etc. The new area won't be huge, but it should leave some extra space beyond the couple of plants I'm generally trying to grow at a time.
I have a 4-tube t5 fixture and some older 12" square LED sidelights (I think 5 total, only using 2 right now). I usually grow on 20/4, in soil so I can feed different plants differently. I'd like to be able to grow maybe some kitchen greens (lettuce, spinach, herbs), just stuff I always seem to wish I had a little of to throw in the strew pot or on a sandwich. It seems like it would be nice to take better advantage of the light since I'm usually doing this in fall and winter.
Anyone do this, in a smaller growing environment? I'm sure those with nice big grow rooms do it all the time, but wondering what might have worked for others in the past.
