Lighting Cobs to replace 150watt hps

Still cant get my Head around that... With both 150 and 600w hps i have done about .8-.9g pr.watt...119 and like 490g respectably...Cannot wait for Them cobbers

That's the efficiency you hear people talking about. Watts determine how much energy you're using not how much light you're getting, the efficiency is what determines the amount of light. A 100 watt light at 50% efficiency is 50 par watts, A 100 W light at 75% efficiency is 75 par watts. The higher the efficiency of more par watts or plant usable light there is. Just imagine 1000 W of incandescent light bulbs vs a 1000 W of LED lightbulbs. What's crazy is I could stare at my 600w LED but my first 20w cob hurt my eyes for hours.

Im not sure off the top of my head which driver, for 2 citizen 1212 cobs you would want something 72v or higher and 700ma. The drivers in a mars hydro would be perfect.

Hi can you confirm which cobs i need 36v or 72v as i cant seem to find any 72v citizen 1212's??

Thanks for the help guys, heres a few pics of the finished cobs, so unbelievably bright!

Iv'e decided to buy a new heatsink as I dont like the look of this one (it was from an old diy aquarium light i built years ago) and i think the cob spacing is not suitable, the new one is 300mm x 140mm x20mm. The space it will be in is 50cm x 50cm would anyone agree that they are to close to each other

Yes, they are a too close. Not that it isn't do-able, but it's no optimal for light spread, could result in a 'hot spot' on your plants.

Nice DYI though man, you're doing great!

Thanks, i'm hoping they will be ok on the longer heatsink somewhere around 100mm apart?
